Who said anything about them not qualifying for any sort of status? You need to stop looking at everything either politically correct or wrong and understand that their is a degree of inappropriateness for every issue.
Have homosexuals been discriminated against? Yes. But your blind to think that homosexuals aren't breaking down barriers every day at a relatively fast pace and that the struggle was as hard as the race of black of people overcoming slavery and and ridiculous amount more of oppression.
The fact that you're even comparing the word queer to N***** is offensive. That's like me saying the discrimination I recieved for my passion of Star Wars and Star trek is the same as the discrimination against homosexuals. The word "trekkie" or whatever the offensive word they consider is the same as queer. Do you deny that Star trek fans weren't teased and bullied throughout their lives? Now would you dare equally compare it to the way homosexuals were treated throughout their lives?
Understand that their are different degrees of appropriateness before you recklessely make comparisons. I don't mind if you want to make an argument that the "Fear the queer" would still be offensive. But don't you dare say that the word queer holds the same weight as N***** you ignorant clown.
