The (and it is a very significant one) difference between the two is that to me, the Jennings/KG spat was completely verbal (unless you believe it stemmed from the Big Baby hard foul earlier in the game), while Blake quite obviously intentionally tried to start something by making a physical action in that Clippers game. Blake instigated that situation, bottom line.

Jennings clearly was not innocent in the Boston game.

I like that he stood up for himself when Big Baby hard fouled him. I didn't even mind that he went up to KG in the tunnel and was barking at him, because I think Garnett is a total jag. When you turn on SportsCenter and see the 10-15 second clips of both though, it doesn't make Jennings look good, it makes him look bad. Just like the Blake incident.

I'm not even trying to say that no one likes Jennings. I think he has a ton of fans out there. But I also think he has a lot of people that dislike him for a lot of different reasons.

This is the key part of the argument that I think people are missing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm reading "the average fan's perception of Jennings does not have the benefit of full context, and therefore some of his more brash and outspoken moments can obviously cause friction."

It's well known that Jennings has long been viewed as being a potential problem by many fans and national media members. Right or wrong (and many have warmed up to him), this perception has been widely discussed, and really isn't a point of debate. Given that, it's not hard to see how Jennings could reinforce those opinions with some of his actions last season.

Regardless of what you think of Jennings' actions throughout the season (and I for one loved when he jawed at KG), it's hard to argue that they didn't have the potential to reinforce the view that he is/was "a punk."

I thought it already was. No wonder I never saw any of you there. I did ask one guy if he was Mags and he said "You know it baby." Hmm....

So I finally watched this after reading this and the general thread. I thought it was pretty funny, but I think that makes me gay. right? That's all I could put together from most opinions.

Just watched the video. That was awesome. I like Jennings at least 10000017 times more than I did 10 minutes ago.

I said this on page 2. I knew what the reaction would be to this video a few days later and sorry Bucks fans, but Brandon takes ANOTHER loss here.

As someone mentioned, he should care about his image. If this was a player from another team THIS forum would be eating him alive.

Its not the end of the world, but at some point Brandon has to stop making an ass out of himself, its that simple.

Dont kid yourself, this is being put all over the net and he is being clowned hard for it...Once it hit WSHH, and it has, then millons of people see it..

Youre just making excuses and pety defenses for him because hes a buck and youre a bucks fan. I can totally see someone not thinking this is a big deal, but youre kidding yourself if you think the only people that see this is on realgm. This is all over every single hip hop forum on the net and they are ALL making fun of Brandon for it. Its not a good look for him at all.

He doesn't take himself too seriously, why should you?

He's not smoking crack. He's not eating vaseline or accidentally shooting a chauffeur. He's goofing around and being himself. It speaks to his maturity that he recognizes his inability to control others' reactions.

Let that freak flag fly, I say.

The horror! The man's good name has been sullied on the internet! On hip hop forums, no less. Truly the Hester Prynne of our times.

But people will hurt his feelings and call him names. We need to teach him his limits.

Hip hop blog commenters are notorious for their restraint and thoughtfulness.

I remember what people said about Andre 3000 back in the day.

Well youre arguing with yourself.

The point was this video isnt just being talked about on Realgm....

I dont care if you dont have a problem with it, i really dont have a problem with it either. But you and I are irrelvent to the discussion, the point is, ALOT of people think Brandon has made a total ass out of himself.

The funny thing is, if this was someone from another team...if this was LEBRON ! (lol) every last poster on this forum would be calling him all kinds of names... I personaly wouldnt cause i really dont care, but the point remains, enough people think Brandon comes off bad in this video.

Thats not the point of why i brought up Hip Hop forums. It was to point out how this video isnt just being discussed on realgm like Chuck suggested.

Yes Realgm and hiphop forums, that about covers the majority of NBA fans.

So it is being discussed on legit news locations? There are big stories about it on ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS Sports, etc...? My point wasn't that it was only being discussed specifically on realgm and only realgm. My point was that this is hardly a story at all and anyone who thinks less of Jennings because of this isn't worth worrying about. I'm sure some people see this and think Jennings is off or bad or whatever word and descriptions they want to use to describe it, but I also get the feeling that Jennings has learned that it doesn't matter and that is a very valuable thing to have in life.

Who cares what some people think about a joke video, I love that he is confident enough to do it.

So it's about numbers, then? There is a certain threshold at which enough people think you've made an ass out of yourself that it becomes relevant? A million offended people means there happen to be a million people who don't get the joke.

We're the ones having the discussion, bdub, and we both think it's no big deal. Why care what the mob thinks? They also went to see 'Vampires Suck.' And I mean in the actual theater, not in a plane or during a hostage situation.

To my mind, the more repellent part of the response is the ex/implicit homophobia. Too many men feel like they have to use gay as a pejorative in order to assert their own straightness. It's getting better with each generation, though we need to speak up.

So to say what he did was "bad" for his image is to in part condone the reaction of his critics. They shouldn't get a pass.
