Now I know our team is stacked and the FO did a great job putting us in Position to win our 3rd straight. But if a player such as Carmelo becomes available and our Star in Kobe has possibly signed his last NBA contract, wouldn't it make since to change the game plan and see what it would take to land him? I know everyone says the Nugs wouldn't trade with us, but this is not true because they tried to pry Character from us on draft night. I understand they wouldn't want to help us in a big way, but if we make a better offer than these other teams, they would be fools not to jump on it. I'm sure Denver learned from what happened this summer, and will not let their star leave with no compensation.I can see players like Artest, barnes, Sasha and character "or sub Artest for Odom". Throw in some draft picks, some money to help them buy out Sasha if they choose and that's a sweet deal. New York is talking Eddy (hasn't played in three years) Curry and Gallo. While Danillo may be good one day, he want equal Melo. Not saying our deal would equal Melo but it's close. Both teams would stay competitive, and we would stay rivals. The Lakers have a long history of trading for big name players, and this would cement our future as well as present day success. I didn't match up numbers and other players or terms would probably need to be added for it to work, but it's a good start in trade negotiations. Maybe the summer is just boring the ish outta me, and just needed to talk basketball for a moment???? Either way it was on my mind and thought I would bring up.
“If this is his team, that means no more coming into camp fat/out of shape, no more blaming others for our team’s failure, my team doesn’t mean only when we win it means carrying the burden of defeat just as gracefully as you carry a championship trophy.”
