I think Thompson called BYU's bluff after screwing over their deal with the WAC. Too bad he is a bad gambler. If nothing else, this gives them freedom to broadcast to all their fans, get more money through the ESPN deal, while not locking them out of joining some other conference in the future.

The MWC is putting on a brave face but you know all those teams are hating that they will lose one of the sellouts every year. I don't see Nevada packing the fans in like the Cougars did. Fresno and Nevada will also get theirs as the WAC is coming after them for the $5 million fine for leaving.

Anyone know how much money the ESPN TV deal is worth?

Still waiting for the details. Rumor is that it was in the lower end of what BYU wanted, but still much better than what they were getting.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

Yeah the Mtn contract sucks donkey dong. BYU has come out a winner from all this. More power to 'em.

The length of the contract is good for them. They will be playing Thursdays which is the reason they wanted the Mtn. in the first place, to avoid that.
