Re: OT: P90X/Health and Fitness Thread
Picked up a box of cocoa roasted almonds today. Not a bad serving size, it doesn't have actual chocolate on it so it isn't high in sugars, just sweetly roasted so that it is a good tasting item and fills me up a bit. The almond idea is solid.

He'll just end up like Geoff Huegill. He was an Australian Olympic swimmer who retired from swimming but didn't retire his diet
Went from this:

To this:

Started swimming again a year or two later and now looks like this:

Down 2 lbs. to 235. I'm thinking 2 pounds per week is a reasonable rate. Suffered a setback today when I blew out my ankle playing BBall.

Were it hurts? I always have problems in my feet because of soccer, and almost never had a muscle problem. Well, that until this year that i started to feel pain in the right thigh, at first behing the knee, but i migrates all the time between the knee, thigh and gluteal. I believe that is mostly cause by my seating position than by walking or running because it manifests more in the days that i'm seated a lot.
I've been to lazy to go to some medical facility, and didn't have much time, nobody here has a clue to what it can be?

Re: OT: P90X/Health and Fitness Thread
it hurt from the base of my big toe up through the top of my foot
it got worse over the weekend so i went and had it looked at, they first thought it might be either a fracture, or gout. gout!! who the **** gets gout?
so they x rayed it and did a blood test and it was neither of those things so they decided it was just some tendon inflammation. they gave me some gigantic ibruprofen to take for a while. it's helping a lot.
21 years of basketball without a broken bone, if i had broken something after a month of soccer, i might have had to quit

Lol i had something like that of couple of years ago. It was from kicking the ball that someone was kicking on the other side too lol. It took some time to disappear the pain. A month. Its a nasty thing to have while playing soccer

Re: OT: P90X/Health and Fitness Thread
I found an app you guys might like, it's called MyFitnessPal.
It's basically a calorie counter. When you start it you put in your height/weight/level of exercise, then it'll give you a calorie goal. Every day you enter in the foods you're eating for breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks as well as any vitamins and cardio/strength-based exercise and it'll keep track of not only how many calories you've got left to use but also a tonne of other nutrional goals (i.e how much protein you've taken in compared to how much you should, same deal for fats/sodium etc etc).
I've only been using it a couple of days but I've found already it's changed my eating habits, because I am scared of making the green calorie count turn red

234lb in week #2. Down 3 lbs. I don't feel too bad. I wasn't able to do too much after blowing out my ankle last week. I finally took a run again yesterday.

I'm starting p90x tomorrow. I've got all of the info and dvds here in front of me and I am legitimately afraid. This is some intimidating stuff.

Re: OT: P90X/Health and Fitness Thread
You will be fine. Just remember there are 3 others besides Tony on each workout and they are each doing it with different intensity. Just pick one that matches your level and follow him/her. The problem with many workout programs is that there is just one way to do it and if your fitness isn't at that level you can't keep up. You won't have that problem with P90X.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I'm starting it September 20 (right after my volleyball tournament in Chicago), so we can go through the pain together. I'm installing a pull up bar in my garage today.
