So Angola and then Russia/France.

Could have been a lot worse.

Thanks for the link. So we get Russia (if we beat France) or Turkey (if we lose to France).

If we went on to beat Russia, we have to play the US. If we go on and beat Turkey, we have to play Slovenia. Either route is tough.

I hope we win. Russia are playing well, but they are beatable. Turkey are pretty much unbeatable.

Russia is much easier than Turkey. At least you'd get to the quarter finals.

New Zealand is 14 up against France. If they win, Greece plays against Spain, talk about backfire.

At this rate, the US look beatable, too. Our major weakness is guarding post players. Actually, we may also have problems containing Westbrook and Rose.

The US mailed it in these past few games, they let the bench play chuck-a-ball against bad competition. You shouldn't expect that US team to show up in the quarter finals.

I'd be very surprised if NZ beat them. Then again, anything can happen in FIBA.

Man, that China - Turkey game is hard to watch. Turkey 66 - China 25 :o, and China is so rattled that they just shoot 3s and don't dare to play post D in fear of getting posterised!

spa 1-1 167:156 +11

nzl 0-1 84:101 -17

new zealand has to win by 12 i suppose.

Not if they're out next round.

N. Zealand has to win by about 28 points in order to be second. It looks like Spain will be second (thus playing with Greece) if N. Zealand wins (up 15 with one quarter to play). If N. Zealand wins by more than 12 or so they will be third.

Greece will play the 2nd place team on group D, probably Spain, NZ up 11 with 3 minutes to go.
