The key to this game as with all games this year is Defence we will live and die with defence.

game notes:
Veteran linebacker Rocky Boiman will sign with the Lions on Monday afternoon, his agent confirmed.

4th preseason game is always awful. I doubt anybody good plays. The most interesting thing for me will be Spieveys progress at Safety

I expect most of our players to sit, so they don't get injured right before the season. But it'll be interesting to see what bench players step up. They are fighting for jobs.

Game is tonight. I hope no one gets hurt. Can't wait for the start of the season. I can smell a win in Chicago.

We won, which is nice. Didnt watch, but the box score suggests Stanton and Dede Dorsey were pretty solid. They both might have kept a roster spot with this one

Stanton was never fighting for a roster spot. No way we'd only keep 2 QB's. And no chance Dede stays on the team. Best, Smith, Morris, Brown, Felton. We don't need ANY more RB's.

Going by what Tom Kowalski said (as close a reporter to the team as any), thats not entirely true

There is absolutely no question about the pecking order of this group. The decision is whether to keep No. 3 Drew Stanton or release him to use that roster spot on another position. The Lions, of course, would be gambling that Stanton won't get picked up by another team and they could re-sign him if he's needed at some point later in the season.

Here's a spot where Stanton's spot could be useful. Kevin Smith still isn't 100 percent -- he had major knee surgery in December -- but the Lions can't put him on IR. They are more likely to keep Jahvid Best, Smith and at least two other backs, along with fullback Jerome Felton. Of those two backs, Aaron Brown gives them versatility, return ability and great speed. Maurice Morris probably is the best option as a pure runner if something happens to Best, but DeDe Dorsey gives them more options in special teams.

Until Smith can return healthy and be that No. 2 option, the Lions might keep an extra running back.

Im not saying we would carry 5 RBs and 2 QBs but i dont think its a forgone conclusion

Tom Kowalski is a tool. Please don't depend on him for news. Stanton was never in doubt. Schwartz has said as much all along.

After reading about the game, I came over here anticipating something from you. You didn't disappoint.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.
