Euro 2012 Qualifying

Post#1 » by AdamTheGreek » Fri Sep 3, 2010 9:00 pm

So yeah, we once again choke at the start of a qualifying campaign. 1-1 v. Georgia at home. Georgia put in a weak goal in the 3rd minute. Then Spyropoulos (one of our worst players) our LB scored his first ever goal on a nifty lefty volley.
We had quite a few more chances to make it 2-1 but wasn't meant to be.

France-Belarus finished 0-1 so I feel a lot better.

Portugal and my Cyprus boys are currently in a 3-2 shootout in the 2nd half.

Belgium looked good. Their future looks bright with Hazard, Lukaku, Fellaini, Kompany, Vermaelen and Dembele

Germany - Belgium was the expected tough match for us (Germany), with Lukaku slicing up our defense in the first half. Luckily Van Buyten remembered that he plays for Bayern, so he was too happy to give it up to Schweini in his own 16, and Klose did the rest.

England off to a superb start (as always), Italy with a narrow win, Spain waltz past Liechtenstein.

But of course, the result of the night is France - Belarus 0-1 :o Man, I would hate to be L. Blanc now...

Bosnia beat Luxembourg 3-0. We scored 3 goals in the first 15 minutes of the match and we could have scored A LOT more but I think they decided to play it cool, so when we play France on Tuesday in Sarajevo, they won't know what hit them. And I say that with confidence because the last 5 matches Safet Sušic has played different formations and tactics and whole different players, so France won't have a clue what we will play on Tuesday causing more chaos for them and their federation.

That Italy GK, Sirigu, who replaced Buffon (injured) was weak isht. In contrast, the new English GK (Joe Hart) looked very promising. Let's see if Sirigu can work his way out of this slump, and if Hart can break the decades long slump of English GKs.

I can't believe that Klose scored again on the national squad after playing like a rabbit for Bayern Munich

He sucks.

Israel 3-1 against Malta, good way to start. Hattrick for Yossi.

Greece is going down!

Whoever the fk played for Portugal in central defense needs to be kicked off the international squad after that.

And lol at Portugal and France.

He should quit his club career and just play for the NT until after the 2014 WC.

lol at France all the talent in the world, but they just can't play together. They should hire Zidane as their coach, maybe he can teach them how to play as a team.

They should hire Zidane to play for them not to coach them. I bet he hasn't lost so much and at least they would win against teams like Belarus with his magic.

not Zidane but i think Deschamps would have been a better choice had he shown interest, at the end he has a pedigree of captaining a world champion and quite successful as a manager.

quite a goal by Hamit, reminded me of Robben goal against United last year.

Been watching the Croatia-Greece game. Croatia's dominating possession at halftime but no real opportunities for either side. This game is boring as ****.

A focused, motivated Lukas Podolski is really good.

Unfortunately, that happens like once every year.
