That doesn't make no sense in light of the fact it was well known the only thing that would entice him was security of years (and guaranteed money).

The FO tried to entice him to stay but showing him that we're committed to winning and swapping LB for Hedo is a big step in the right direction. But obviously, in hindsight, what Amare wanted was money and security.
