Who's your surprise team in '10?

Post#1 » by Killa K » Sat Sep 4, 2010 2:17 am

Question is in the title. I think that the Kansas City Chiefs are going to surprise a few people this year. It's Coach Haley's third year with the team and they have good corrdinaters. Thomas Jones will have an impact season. I am no fan of Cassel but he will do an adequate job of running the offense. And the defense I believe will finally mesh, they have some good talent on the D side of the ball with Berry and Johnson, and this is the year for the LSU boys to prove their worth.

What teams do you think will surprise?

I like the Chiefs to be a bit better too but I think a less apparent one for me is the Atlanta Falcons. They kinda had a sophomore slump last year. I like what they have in Matt Ryan, an elite running back in Michael Turner, decent recievers and a defense that is young... but I think they could hit their stride.

I don't think the Cowboys having a good season would be a suprise, I think everyone expects that

I think the Seahawks are much improved this season.

Raiders will make the playoffs. Lions will win 6 games.

The Jets will have a disaster season.

Panthers make the playoffs, Jaguars finish 2nd in AFC South
Jets and Packers both miss the playoffs

That one seems particularly bold to me. If I had to pick a team today to win the Super Bowl I would probably take the Packers. Why do you think they may fail this season?

To intentionally pick someone not already mentioned

No one was talking about the Jets in 09. No one was talking about the Dolphins in 08. No one is talking about the Bills.

They actually look like a competent team this year.

Browns (if their pass defense can improve over the season)

Aaron Rodgers going to be your MVP.

What did the Packers do that took them from getting 50 dropped on them by the Cardinals, to winning the superbowl? Bryan Bulaga?

Not saying I agree with it, but the reasoning is that last year was the "transition year" into the 3-4. Everyone now has a year under their belt and Capers has said he will implement more things. Al Harris also comes back from injury and Matthews/Raji each have a year in now.

What he said. Plus I think that the Vikings look more vulnerable which should allow the Packers to win their division and get them home field. Their defense is good, that 50 point game was a fluke. Aaron Rodgers seems like he could be poised to have one of those amazing quarterbacking seasons like Mannings 49 td or Bradys 50 td season. I think he is going to become a super duper star.

I got the Lions. They have guys I like at QB (Stafford), WR (Johnson), DT (Suh), RB (Best), and a good coach. Seems pretty solid, no?

Solid core no doubt. Problem is they lack depth. They are improving tho.
