The Cards can just sit on Rasmus for a while. There is no reason to jump and trade him when he is under control contractually for a while. As far as giving up Drabek for him, I would not at this point. JPA and another mid range prospect and I'd be more inclined on such on offer.

I've heard about Rasmus feuding with LaRussa publicly and that's probably the reason. Buzz Bissinger speculated that LaRussa has lost the team and he might not be back. I doubt St Louis would just trade away a player of that caliber. Remember, he's also a solid CF. If they do, I'd be willing to give them Marcum. I've been thinking about other Marcum trade opps and I was wondering if the Marlins would be interested in Marcum for Logan Morrison. Or is that not enough coming back to us?

I would love to trade for him, but it wouldnt come cheaply. He would fit real nice at CF/RF (if they dont move Wells over) and have Bautista play 3B. Would give up any of Marcum/Mills/Zep/Stewart/JPA/Ahrens for him. Wouldnt give up Drabek at this point, being the centerpiece of the Halladay trade and all.

And just as we speculate about Morrison, he gets hit in the FACE with a foul ball while on deck.

Huge welt under his eye but the x-rays were negative and he might travel with the team to Philly.

He's clearly a headcase and is unproven as in he may or may not be an impact major league player no matter how good his tools are. Why give up some of our top prospects for a guy that won't listen to his manager?

La Russa had problems with Rolen too which led to his exit.

Well clearly he is one now. Even Pujols called him out.

No young player should act against a manager... simply because they're not smarter than their managers, especially in this case since La Russa knows what the hell he's doing in terms of managing a winning team. If the rest of the team can shut up do what you're being paid millions to do why can't you? La Russa's gonna do his job and all Rasmus needs to keep things to himself, work hard, and hope for a managerial change at worst. Smart move if he wants to hurt his own reputation before he even gets to prove much of his talent.

Good point... The one thing that i was like come on man was when apparently la russa went to rasmus and basically threaten him that he would be optioned down to triple A.... like why would he say that? It's not the dude is not hustling out on the field
