Just picking my spots. If I did that with every stupid post I read on this board I'd be here for 1,000 years.

I kinda like Riley... he has a very competitive nature and somewhat abrasive attitude. This was his comment when Kobe scored 81:
Miami Heat Coach Pat Riley:
"Anybody who's got the kind of energy to try to hoist up (nearly) 70 shots is going to score a lot of point. It's remarkable, the execution and the efficiency, but we've got a lot of guys in this league, if they took 70 shots, they'd score a lot of points."
I think he's bitter, jealous and somehow wanted to go back to being a Laker... lol

Yeah right Kobe took 46 shots to get to 81, also getting to line 18 for 20.
I don't think I Trust The Process anymore!
We are the originals! We are the Philadelphia 76ers!

Re: What if Pat Riley never left?
Yeah we all could be mad at Pat Riley for all the times he steals or tries to steal a Laker Player and signs him with the Heat.
Like when he tried to steal Lamar Odom back to Miami last summer.
Or this past Summer when he tried to steal Fish.
Pat Riley is a Laker for Life .
Winning his first Chip as a Player playing alongside Jerry West and Wilt Chamberlain in 1972.
Bringing 4 more titles to Laker Land as the Head Coach of the Showtime Lakers in the 80's.
Laker for Life.
To answer the OP question I think if Pat Never left we still would of won a couple of Championships. I don't know if he could of won the amount Phil brought us this past decade but he would of won us a few for sure with Kobe, Shaq, Pau and Artest in the lineup.
What Pat has done for the Miami Heat Organization is Astronomical.
The title in 04'. The signing of the new Big Three this summer. Truly Legendary.
Of Course it is a certified challenge to our 3 Peat Hopes but nobody ever said it was gonna be easy.
An it's not like Pat Riley up and left the Lakers organization and joined the Celtics like a Hall of Fame Center we used to have ..................................
