This is a perfect example of why the there needs to be a limit on how many years a contract can be. Either that are decrease the raises. There are some teams that really screw themselves over with these toxic contracts.

The owners need to smarten up and get a new, super strict CBA.
Rashard Lewis is going to make 60+mil over the next 3 years. He's not worth half that.

Nobody made them pay Rashard Lewis that money, they decided to themselves. I hate the NBA pay scale, it's horrible. There is no way there should be a limit on how much a player makes[based on experience in the league] after their rookie contract. Lebron and DWade should have been make 20+ million a year after their third year.

might be fair for a year or two but will be just as bad as the above pretty soon.

I agree with the bad deals except for Yao, wait to see what is his level this season.
He got the same deal that Pau at the same time, and he was an all-star before Pau was.

Luckily for some of these teams a few of these guys are expiring. I would expect for at least one of these teams to take advantage of that.

Shorter contracts would help with some of this nonsense. Shaving a year off the current maximums is the one thing I think the players will eventually agree on.

Re: Top 20 NBA Salaries for 2010-11 Season
Andrei has the most valuable of all of those contracts. He is expiring this year, and unlike Redd he is projected to play 65+ games this year.

The thing with Kirilinko is, esp when he got that contract, if you put him ona team where he is a major ballhandler and is a PF he would put up some pretty sick numbers. I don't know how well the team would do though.

NBA is already the most limited league there is. U dont see NBA teams handing out 10 year contracts like the NHL or the MLB
