I dont see any more moves being made. The lineup/roster we have now, is the lineup we will run with this season, whether we like it or not.
Hedo may not be a "traditional" Power Forward, but we're not a "traditional" team.

Yi is an interesting one. On this board, people have mixed opinions of him. I believe he is a very underrated player, and given the chance, he can excel. I personally prefer him over Channing Frye, as he is larger, is a better rebounder, and has a more developed post game.

Da_Reel_Kboy's remarks sums up this thread.
The End.

Hedo will cause some advantages for us on offense and we never really cared about defense anyways so i think we will do alrite this year

I think he meant historically as an up-tempo team in the Nash era. We didn't talk defense until Porter came and try to force his defensive philosophy on the team

Re: All we need is a power forward
I'm excited to see how this team performs in the first half; it's not a title team, and it's probably not a WCF team, but it should be a fun team and it's unwise to underestimate Steve Nash. He doesn't post gaudy scoring numbers, so most people don't see him as an MVP-caliber player, but he's quietly turned in some pretty astonishing performances with some very different team styles and roster constructions.
I think maybe the most unsung transaction of the off-season, lost in all the hoopla about the Heat, is the acquisition of Childress. If he comes in and does what he did for Atlanta, the Suns add a guy who posted about 12/5/1.5 in 30 mpg... at about 91 possessions a game. He averaged about 14/6/2 per-36, he's efficient, he defends, he doesn't play outside of his role, kills the offensive glass as a swing forward... ugly shooting form, but around 80% from the line and has had a couple of good 3pt shooting seasons.
Reminds of this guy that used to play for this team, back when it was winning 60 games. Sean something? Shawn, maybe. I forget, he's been elsewhere and sucking for a few years now. Really similar, though, and was really good for the Suns.
All kidding aside, I doubt Childress is quite the same level of player as prime Marion, but he's not someone who needs Nash to prop up his efficiency, which should be a mildly horrifying thought if you care to consider it. Given that RoLo should hopefully be healthy and the Suns have at least 18 fouls to throw at the opposition at the 4 and that they do have a pair of competent alternate ball-handlers in Hedo and Goran, I don't think Phoenix's offense is going to have any real trouble and their defense may actually not be vile if Childress plays 30+ mpg.
I'm excited for the season start... more excited for the 20th game of the season, as usual, because the first dozen games are usually crap, then there's a second-step adjustment period as guys are starting to get their wind and adjust to new teammates and whatever, and then around 20 games or so, we start to really get to see some good ball.
Here's to a solid, competitive season... and the possibility of surprise, present on a team only when the lead player is just that good.

Re: All we need is a power forward
I agree tsherkin. To think, our second unit will most likely consist of 6'3", 6'8", 6'7", 6'9", 6'11" squad, I like the idea of our zone with that group. We have quick guys that run on both sides. The only real weakness is inside. But I feel Frye has improved on his defense, with the way he played Duncan in the playoffs. He also doesn't mind knocking a guy down, which is something we've needed inside. Shaq did it, and Lopez can do it. It just makes the other team's PG think twice about driving.
With Goran and Childress running the top of the zone, we have smart defenders on the perimeter. Plus we add the wings of Dudley and Warrick, we have long guys that don't mind running out on the corner shooters. Which will leave Frye to man the center.
Hopefully he worked on his post defense. And if that frontline isn't working, we still have Lawal, Clark, and Jones to step in for defense. If Jones or Lawal can prove themselves during practice, we may have ways to cover Frye's troubles on defense.
We have such a deep team now, that I am totally excited to see this team play. And if they have the same attitude as last year, the minutes won't be an issue, and we will have a stronger smarter team throughout the season. That completely helped us get all the way to the WCFs last year.
GO SUNS!!!

I don't think we have too much to worry about. There were plenty of good PF's taken around where we could lie in the draft. Josh Smith (17th), Boozer (35th), Al Jefferson (15th), David Lee (30th), Luis Scola (57th), and David West (18th) all fall in there. Lawal might be on that list in a couple years, and we've got our perimeter shored up like crazy. I doubt we draft anything but big's next year.

I found the answer to our PF problem. EARL BARRON. SUPER STUD. Trade one of our bigs (channing, warrick, hedo) for an exception or something. Maybe give Hedo back to the raptors!

Please no? We don't want him back...
Barron should be cheap. He's a mythically inefficient scorer over a good chunk of his career, sort of a bad version of the typical 60s/70s jump-shooting center. He's got a semi-decent shot past 15 feet and he can hit FTs, but he isn't good at finishing around the rim (or in the key in general) or drawing fouls.
Middling rebounder for a center (8 REB36, apart from 7 games last year) and he isn't very good defensively (crap shot-blocker and not that great as a defensive rebounder, not a good post defender).
If he can be had on a 10-day or a vet-min kind of deal, he's worth a look, though, if only because he's cheap and fits in on offense in that he can take a 15-footer to stretch the floor a bit.
