If you ask me I would rather have Kwame. Yes he is a bust but as a player he is still great defensively.

+1. If he ever learned to play defense (he has the basic tools), he would be a fixture in the league. Lobs, putbacks and hustle points would be more than enough if he could only learn to use his physical gifts on the defensive end. That career game against the Lakers his rookie season (23 and 12), Bynum had one of his career games (42 and 15.)

I am more confident that he could learn basic post defense, before significantly improving his FT%.

I wish we could use our capspace to somehow get Corey Brewer from Minny. He would be a terrific fit.

Just thought I'd add that I saw Peter John Ramos at MSG last weekend and since he is supposedly making his way back in the league, I think he could suffice as the Clippers third big man, especially if we are a running team. He can run, reacts quickly and has good hands. However, he is very sluggish in the half court and has no post game whatsoever.

I did want Kwame Brown at one point, but there is no use in mixing his bad #1 pick mojo in the locker room with Blake.

James Singleton leaves Wizards for China

James Singleton determined that he would have more to gain (such as money and playing time) in leaving the NBA than sticking around for another shot next season. Singleton, a throw-in from the Wizards' trade deadline deal with Dallas last February who emerged as a regular rotation player, said on Monday that he signed to play next season in China with the Xinjiang Gyang Hui Flying Tigers.

I think we should pick up Amundson as a backup 4/5.

I wouldn't have minded having Amundson. He's a nice hustle/energy player. It would also give our games with Memphis another dynamic. He is a little undersized for the center position, but we need somebody that is not named Cook to be able to play minutes at the 5 with Kaman and Jordan. My guess is that we'll have somebody by the time camp starts who may be on a minimum partially guaranteed contract. It could very well be Skinner. :dontknow:

I know Marcus Blakely signed a partial guaranteed contract, we still do need a big. Just in case Kaman goes down, wich he often does. Here are my picks

First guys to get
Patrick O'Bryant, Randolf Morris, or Earl Barron
think there basically the same skill level would be cheap 3rd C options,

If either of these three dont land and we need a cheap vet C then
Primoz Brezec

All of these guys are not going to be on the active roster, hopefully playing the full year on the IR

One last thing, I know the Clipps signed Blakely, but he is not guaranteed to make the roster, one person i would rather see is Jarvis Hayes He is a natural SF and would make a solid BU

If i were GM here is my team

PG Davis, Foye, Bledsoe
SG Gordon, Butler, Warren
SF Gomes, Hayes, Aminu
PF Griffin, Smith, Cook
C Kaman, Jordan, Barron

Warren, Cook, and Barron IR

Looks like we have Jon Scheyer added to training camp

Jon Scheyer has accepted an offer to go to training camp with the Los Angeles Clippers, a league source told FanHouse.

The Clippers currently have 14 players on their roster, one short of the league maximum, though the contracts of both second-round pick Willie Warren and free agent signee Marqus Blakely are only partially guaranteed.

Free agent center Jarron Collins is signing with the Clippers, agent Bob Myers told HoopsHype.

Half back from vac-if that makes sense. Four more coming to camp for Clippers are Jake Voskuhl, Jarron Collins, Jon Scheyer, Stephen Dennis

Steve Novak has been invited to attend Mavericks' Training Camp.

-- Jake Voskuhl: Oh yes, Clippers fans will certainly remember the big bruiser from his days with Toronto and and when he took out Zach Randolph a couple of years ago. That bone bruise lingered and lingered and lingered for Randolph.

-- Jarron Collins: Another familiar face to SoCal hoop fans. Most recently Collins had a reserve role last season with the Suns.

-- Jon Scheyer: The Duke star guard and captain had a gig with Miami during the Summer League in Las Vegas but didn't get much of a chance to display his skills, suffering an eye injury in the second game. Previous reports had him going to training camp with the Jazz.

-- Stephen Dennis: The guard put up big, big numbers -- at Division II Kutztown University in Pennsylvania and earned a mention in Sports Illustrated's "Faces in the Crowd" feature in February. He was the Division II player of the year, averaging 26.6 points.

I don't get it. Why does it say Jarron Collins was invited to training camp, but in the other quote, it says he's signing with us?

And I don't really like any of the 4 being invited. First, we need a big more than we need another guard. Second, both Voskuhl and Collins are players that haven't shown anything special in their careers so far, and both are up there in years.

Why can't they invite Boone? Or have they invited him, and he doesn't want to attend? There must be something wrong with that guy that nobody knows about, because he seems more than adequate as a backup. Maybe he's injured? Decent shot blocker, younger, and not a lot of mileage on his legs. Plus he looks kind of cool, lol.

Jarron is a good backup. I'd be happy if we signed up.

Glad we have some big men coming to training camp. Playaloc916 don't get discouraged that Boone isn't coming to our training camp, there could be many factors to why he isn't coming here. We just need a big body to box out, rebound, and try to block shots. Maybe DJ has improved since summer league and we may not need to depend on Collins or Voskuhl as much as we may think.

My hope is that whatever big man is signed, he would only be used on rare occasions. I have no idea what is up with Boone. The other guards are more than likely just practice players, although there is still an opportunity for them since Warren and Blakely are only partially guaranteed.

I like our training camp invites and Voshkul would be a good fit. A bruising 7 footer not afraid of anyone.

I'm not too concerned about DJ. He was playing with inexperienced guards like Bledsoe. Again, our season is dependent on how Baron plays and helps others play better.

I really believe Vinny D is our biggest off season pick up and it will show!

Allocation Rule Change Strengthens NBA, D-League Affiliate Bond

In accordance with the NBA, the NBA Development League will implement a rule change with regard to how D-League rosters are assembled. Beginning this season, up to three players cut last from the roster of an NBA team before the D-League Draft will be allocated to that team's D-League affiliate provided they sign the standard D-League contract.

This rule replaces the previous allocation rule, where players of local significance would be allocated to D-League teams, a rule that was designed to help with marketing but didn't increase the team's bond with the NBA like the new allocation system should.

"The new allocation process is a big change and it will alter our league drastically," said one D-League coach, speaking to FanHouse on the condition of anonymity as the rule change has not yet been officially announced by the league. "Very often, the best players in the D-League attended training camp with an NBA team. It's great from an NBA team's perspective since the players they like, and want a longer look at, can stay with their affiliates."

Scott Schroeder, NBA Fanhouse
