Magic Johnson....Gotta Ask

Magic Johnson is approaching 20years as a carrier of the HIV virus. He has not contracted AIDS and shows no symptons that would implicate a shortened life as a result of carrying the HIV virus. This is occuring while countless numbers of human beings in centralized geographical locations throughout Africa, Asia, South(Latin) America and America's inner cities are ravaged by this virus.

I am a Magic Fan and think that the world is a better place because of his past and ongoing contributions to it. But he IS nearly a billionaire, while the people that contract the HIV virus and almost always eventually die of AIDS are poor and disadvantaged. What is this saying? Magic is and exceptional human being, but as you younger guys may say: 'Comon Son'.

Diminished (deceptively conservative) statistics reveal that the AIDS virus will claim nearly 100million lives since 1981 by the end of 2010. These lives are by and large represented by Africans and other populations world-wide that represent descendents of Africans and Southeast Asia. South Africa (the most mineral rich region of the entire world) represents a disproportionate number of infections and deaths (>97% indigenous African/negroid). The number of AIDS deaths in the inner city, and current rate of contraction there are alarmingly disproportionate.

We are awesome at the diagnosis and disection of even the most complex and intriguing of problems both social and technical in nature. However, the profoundly obvious nature of this issue alludes all of us for some reason and loses its undeniable transparency when engaged by our cognitive abilities.

Why can't we see the writing on the wall, when it is written in the blood of nearly 100million human lives? I think we all can see it, but those that have a heart of flesh that is not diabolical in nature, refuse to face the reality that this situation has the finger-prints of greed and hatred/fear all over it. We don't want to face the reality that we live in a world that contains other members of the human family that have used the gift of knowledge to wage a form of warfare against other members of humanity that is inhuman and PURELY SATANIC in nature.

We ignore the obvious nature of this. Our hearts and minds don't really want to grasp the gravity of what we are facing. Nevertheless, it is always better to face reality, no matter how soberingly disgusting it may be. Those that have waged this war against the poor, disadvantaged, and SEEMINGLY powerless masses have done so realizing that the abscence of true knowledge/education which is the only thing that will transfer truth and unity to the masses, is all that is needed to perpetuate their wicked world dominance (ie human death for the lust of greed and power).

I know this reality is hard to face, but as we get closer to the light of this world our recognition of its darkness is effortlessly life changing.

First, the title says 'Gotta Ask' but I can't see a question there anywhere...

After that, let me see if I have your general point and how it relates to Magic correct...

1. HIV/Aids is bad
2. It's still spreading and killing people
3. It's all Magic's fault cause he's not dead yet and rich

I'm not trying to be a smartass here... That's really what I get from what you wrote... Which makes absolutely no sense to me.
Bash Magic if you want... He's a sports figure... Nothing more... And he's certainly no saint.
But there's just no logic in using him as a bad example with regard to HIV/Aids....

It is interesting that Magic has seemed to beat the onset of Aids. I have read that he has submitted to alot of testing to determine why. But in reality it is probably due to the fact that he took good care of his body for many years, I figure he probably still eats very healthy. So mabey a healthy lifestyle helps prolong the effects of HIV. Mabey it is Magics large lung capacity, he isnt that good for that many years without having a body that can use oxygen very effectivly.

Or mabey the key to beating aids is sleeping with ALOT of women. or sleeping with the Laker girls. I am willing to get the disease and be a test subject with the laker girls. Why knows we may have found a cure.

I think his question is Magic is basically alive because he is really rich, and he is using treatment that no one else has access to. Therefore people who want to make a lot of money are holding out the treatment except from the rich. When it is most likely more of an issue for the lower class. He wants to know how Magic fought his AIDS? It was funny how they explained it in episode of South Park. Little bits of shredded money into the bloodstream or more like advance treatment nobody has access to that is the truth.

Who knows if he has the cure he's rich so he has the best doctors monitoring his disease just be glad that he's still alive

Honestly I just listened to a lecture about HIV infection today. I work at a local community hospital. The Doc giving the lecture pretty much said that it was theory in the 80-90's that if you were fairly healthy you could live longer with HIV. He went on to say that today that it is pretty factual. People diagnosed with HIV could possibly die of old age or some other sickness before Aids sets in. However any traumatic disruption of the body's viral resistance will cause the HIV virus to take advantage and the person could die of pneumonia or something else complicated by AIDS.

He ended by saying there is still no cure but one could live fairly well and for a long time with the right medicines and healthy lifestyle. In a 3 world country healthy foods and AZT meds aren't either attainable or affordable. So yes it depends on where you are born or where you live with HIV that will determine how long you will live. If you are a young person and live in the UK, China, or USA you could live well into your 50's or longer with HIV. If you live in Africa or Afghanistan you most likely will die very soon after you contract HIV. Demographics, economics, and location have more to do with if someone lives or dies from this disease than anything.

This to me is OT and a little insulting at that. Awareness is awesome, but I think this is not not the forum for a general statement and I think it invites a bad reaction without benefiting the cause.
