I'd blitz him nearly every down. Dude looks stiffer than Bledsoe.

He'd pick this apart if you tried it, imo. I think the key was them showing blitz early and dropping back in the first half while in the 2nd they came at him a lot more and disguised it really well. Outside of a couple plays though, it didn't seem like they got great pressure on him.

Favre really looked bad last night. Granted, first game without TC and lacking his top weapon, but still.

I thought Favre looked fine, personally.

He missed a couple of open guys, but overall his WRs didn't really give him a whole lot to work with. He showed he still has the arm strength to get it done and he looked like he could still move about as well as last year.

The Saints defense played a hell of a game, IMO. Their young corners look great.

If I am the Vikings, the thing I worry about most is the WR position. Berrian looks terrible and Percy was nonexistent, those guys got no separation all night.

I thought he looked uncomfortable in the pocket all night and missed a lot of guys he usually hits on. I think he started the 2nd half 0/7. Not shocking really, considering he's missing guys and it's the first game, but hopefully he looks like that all year.

I agree that he looked a little off last night.

But in the end the things that I am looking at with him and how he will play during the season as a whole are how he is physically.

He looks like he still has some mobility and he obviously still has the arm to get it done. I don't think you can really expect him to do what he did last season though. I honestly doubt we will ever see another season from a 40 year old QB that is even close to that good. What he did last year was honestly pretty unbelievable.

If they were smart, they would lean on AP and the running game a lot more, make it easier on the old man by setting up the play action and things of that nature. Against the 'bad' teams of the league, they should just punish them with Peterson.

Yeah Favre didn't look so good last night. If he would have got his ass into training camp sooner those passes he missed are likely completed. As of now, i don't see in any way how the Packers are in for a fight for the division. If THAT is what will be "challenging" them this year, oh boy, Rodgers is going to have a field day in both games. After last night, I can only imagine how much more frustrated Vikings fans are with Rice for not getting the surgery done in the off-season.

I agree. If he had went to camp the Vikings win this game. I LOL'd in the post game interview when he said he was as prepared as he could have been. How many passes did he throw in preseason? Like 10?

He had the same routine as last off season and then he was fine, you could argue that he needed it more last season as he was going to a new team, at least this year it was the same team and coaches and such. I don't think he needed camp.

There were two distinct times where Harvin didn't do what Favre was expecting. You gotta think camp would have helped them get on the same page unless you think Harvin is just an idiot and doesn't know what he's doing out there.

Last year he started the year with Cleveland and Detroit, those games were essentially his pre season games. This year he opened up with the Super Bowl champions. He really should have been in camp and working on timing with his new receivers, you can't just roll off the couch and beat the Saints.
