Well, that's not true. Offensively Lopez is super effective at the screen and roll, which with Nash as your PG is a pretty safe bet. He has decent range and is improving offensively. Rebounding-wise, he gets 10 per 40 so not much worse than Okafor...known for being raw when we drafted him so he's improving every day.

Lopez may not rebound at an impressive rate but the team went from getting slightly out rebounded by opponents to out rebounding them by more than 2rpg when he was named starter, and it wasn't a coincidence. The guy keeps other bigs off the glass and allows the Suns wings to snag them.

Okafor is horrible with an even worse contract. His defense is ridiculously overrated and his offense is no better than Lopez(who'll likely be even better next season, especially if he continues to hit the open 15-18 footer he was getting at the end of the year).

I dunno what the Knick fan is getting at but I sure hope he isn't insinuating an Eddy Curry deal lol. But I do see his concerns. Lopez is still very raw despite his obvious development over the part two seasons. Offensively he benefited greatly from have defenders often concentrating only on Amare, allowing him to get open. Credit to him though for the garbage buckets he drops from pure hustle and out-rebounding other bigs. Defensively he's a big athletic body that alters shots and block the occasional shot but in terms of defensive fundamentals he's got the basics right, he just needs to keep working on it. His rebounding could be better but considering he's always been an average rebounder, I'm not expecting him to be average 11-12rpg's anytime soon. I think with our roster, we have enough depth and versatility to be OK with Rolo being our starting C.

I'm watching the one that allows his counter part to shoot about 60% while not being able to defend pnr effectively.

All better interior defenders off the top of my head. When you factor in Okafor getting paid 13mil per for the next 4 years and the fact he doesn't help offensively I wouldn't want him anywhere near my team.

LMAO, stop looking at the stat sheet. Okafor is a joke. Even when Tyson Chandler was playing hurt he was far better for the Hornets than Okafor. Okafor has been a complete disaster for New Orleans the second he arrived. Just because a guy can block a few shots from the weak side doesn't mean he can protect the basket. Okafor cannot hold his ground under heavy contact and he sucks horribly at boxing out. And unlike other softie big men, he actually overplays the pick and roll, not picking his spots well at all and always thinking to play the ball-handler tight. He plays the pick and roll like a guy trying to pressure and draw charges, but without actually accomplish either task. Okafor is a colossal joke as a Center on defense, always has been. Why do you think guys like Chandler and Nazr Mohammed have been better for the same teams defensively? At best, Okafor is a poor man's Robin Lopez defensively(offensive is another story though).

Okafor is a bust. He's not good enough offensively to be a consistant Power Forward, he's not good enough defensively to be a Center. He should be nothing more than a backup but because of his name(and a large contract, which is a result of his name), he continues to play big roles on **** teams.
