FFL 2010-11 - Draft times reduced to 8 hours per pick!

Post#1 » by Curtis Lemansky » Mon Sep 13, 2010 10:31 am

New thread as the old one has gone over 100+pages.

Rules

Teams: 20
Scoring Type: Head-to-Head
Max Moves: See below
Max Moves during the playoffs: Six per week
Max Trades: No maximum
Trade Reject Time: 1
Trade End Date: Approx. March 5, 2010
Waiver Time: 1 day
Can't Cut List Provider: Yahoo
Trade Review: Commissioner
Post Draft Players: Follow Waiver Rules
Max Acquisitions per Week: No maximum
Weekly Deadline: Daily - Tomorrow
Start Scoring on: Week 1
Roster Positions: PG, SG, G, G, SF, PF, F, F, C, C, BN, BN, BN
Stat Categories: FG%, FT%, 3PTM, PTS, REB, AST, ST, BLK, TO

Injured List
- The IL wait time is 3 straight games on your roster.
- Suspended players can also be sent to the IL after three games.
- We will "Self Police" the IL. Drop your player, then IMMEDIATELY update the IL Post on the league page with the player you are protecting. If you forget this step, YOUR PLAYER IS NOT PROTECTED. If your player is added while unprotected, you're out of luck. It may sound draconian, but the only fair way is zero tolerance.
- If you pick up a protected player at any point during the season, there will be consequences. I don't know what they are yet, but they will be nasty. Stay tuned.

Max Moves
- Unlimited moves during the NBA pre-season
- A maximum of 60 moves total during the regular season (equates to 3 moves per week of the regular season)
- Six moves a week every week for the playoffs, as has been the case in past.

Rule Changes
- 8 teams will make the playoffs
- Playoffs will begin one week eariler than usual

I like how one-by-one all my super sleeper picks have been taken. Rudy F. Yeah, we know he's going to get traded. Hansbrough: thought he was flying under the radar with that injury that still hasn't cleared up. I was going to be on the "have a healthy year" train for Hansbrough, now I'm getting out my Hansbrough voodoo doll...

Or, Break, we could just forgo the whole thing and you can surrender Hansbrough to me!

if anybody is interested in Beno Udrih or Carl Landry, I'm open for trade offers. But they won't be traded away for nothing, I want to get either equal value or maybe upgrade them, not downgrade. The reason I want to do this is, they are from the same team. So it's not crucial for me to trade them, don't lowball me.

Vertigo is such a tricky disease, who knows when it will pass. I was basically clamoring over depth charts until I noticed that Phycho T was going to be starting after the Troy Murphy trade. In deep leagues, I like to play the "who gets the most minutes" game, hence me taking Raja Bell and now Hansbrough. That vertigo is really hard deal with though. I'm taking thinking that because the Pacers haven't really added anyone to help out means they are expecting him back soon.

It's too bad you don't still have Amir Johnson, but I might part with Hansbrough for Casspi...and no voodoo please, my team needs lots of injury luck.

We'll see. I traded up for Casspi and I wouldn't have done the same for Hansbrough. Remember Jamaal Mashburn? He was the last guy in the NBA with vertigo. It sent him to the announcer/analyst booth basically.

No worries. Hansbrough has NO chance of being an announcer this early in his career. 8-)

psycho T was top of my list for 200. He will be the starting pf so he at least has to get a rebound or 2 right. I think Gomes is a really nice pick up for me this late in the draft, he should start at the 3 for the clips.

agreed, mostly. Gomes does have competition though.

As a wolves fan, I don't think I'll ever convince myself to take Gomes again. He is a super nice guy, but way too inconsistent. For every one 15+ point game, he gives you nine games equal to or less than 10. He should be a good for a 3 though.

EDIT - after saying that, I checked my ranks I discovered I had him at 202.. :D
