Week 2 Lead Up: Buffalo

Post#1 » by LUKE23 » Mon Sep 13, 2010 4:47 pm

Thought we'd get some banter going on this weeks game. Buffalo is seriously terrible. In reading around (including their fans takes) they have the worst offensive line in the history of man. Be nice to have Neal back and four active DL along with Matthews to really terrorize Edwards, who is a poor QB.

Regarding weapons, Bills don't have much in the passing game. Have some capable backs, but they need holes to run through and they didn't get those vs. Miami. Really, we should shut this team down offensively.

It's the NFL so anything can happen, but I'll be upset if we don't dominant this game.

Grant has significant ankle injury per MM. Will be out this week and needs more testing.

That is unfortunate about Grant, hopefully he will not miss an extended amount of time. But this is the perfect game for him to miss due to the fact it seems like we won't really need him much. Always expect the unexpected when it comes to the NFL but I am expecting a pretty easy win here.

Clifton has knee swelling and Bishop has a hammy (it not bad though).

Never a "good" time for an injury but at least we aren't facing any real tough teams until the Vikings about mid way through the season, so Grant missing this game won't matter much. Can't stress enough how awful the Bills are, come out and put this one away as early as we can. Unless MM's playcalling stalls things and gives these bums some hope.

Every time we should have an easy win we find a way to make it way too close.

I can't wait though, I'll be there and I love Lambeau. Going to the Badger game Saturday too, what a great weekend (I hope).
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

We should destroy them but nothing is ever certain in the NFL. We have one functional true RB and barely have enough healthy D-lineman to run a 3-4 defense. That's never good.

Assuming Harrell is out for the year we'll be signing a DL today or tomorrow so he'll be at practice on Wednesday. I'm interested to find out about Grant's ankle. IR is 4 weeks so we just may end up playing short handed. Best case is 2 weeks of rest is enough and he's back for da Bears.

Packers said Harrell is being put on IR with a torn ACL. Grant is out at least this week with a severe ankle sprain.

Hopefully we are getting all these injuries out of the way early. Next five weeks is Buffalo, Chicago, Detroit, Washington, Miami, with three of them at home. For a five week span, that is about as easy as you can draw up in the NFL.

Yep, their 3-headed monster at running back managed, what? 40 yards yesterday on the ground? All 3 of those backs are talented, they were at home, and Miami isn't exactly a top 10 defense. I'm expecting them to get pretty gimmicky on offense next week to try and manufacture some big plays.

If Grant is badly hurt (season ending or maybe even out for 4 weeks), I'd call up Dallas and see what they want for Tashard Choice. They were looking to trade Barber in the offseason, I think all 3 of their RB's are starting caliber.

We need another back on this team. Jackson looked decent yesterday, but I don't want him as the featured back.

Agree about getting another RB. I don't think Grant's going to be out for the season but it sounds like he'll be out for a couple of weeks. You can't take any team in this league lightly.

Agreed, and I like Choice. I also think Marshawn Lynch could be had for cheap and I think he fits our system like a glove - runs with some power and can catch the ball out of the backfield. I could also see Lynch going to a better team and having a Cedric Benson-like epiphany.

I forgot about Lynch, I'd love to get him. I know TT and the front office liked him they year he came out too. We were ready to take him in the 1st but Buffalo picked him before we had a chance.

Hopefully we won't really need Wynn as the season moves on, but he's decent depth. Showed some flashes last year. We really need Neal to get back to 100%. Is it likely Jenkins will be playing with a club all season?

From what I heard for a while at the very least, he broke his hand, I would guess that means at least 4-8 weeks but I'm not doctor :P

Starks should be back in the middle of the season and get a shot right?

I was excited to see what he could do, and now if grant is out a while it would be nice to at least see him get a chance.
