Is Floyd going to block and dodge CJ to death?

I get that we're all making jokes here, but I'm seriously concerned that some of you may actually really think CJ would have a chance in this fight.

I'm a MMA follower as well. I'm a big Mayweather fan but yeah a street fight is totally different. Mayweather while in the ring is not worrying about take downs and when he get's locked up the ref breaks it up. That does not happen in a street fight, no one is breaking you away.

Of course if Mayweather connects it's dangerous but if CJ can take him to the ground he has a chance

Mayweather is arguably the best boxer in the world. Even if CJ wrestled in high school, he is NOT going to beat Mayweather in a fight...

I follow MMA, but that fight was two professional fighters. I have a hard time giving CJ a chance here.

Taking CJ and Mayweather out of the equation. If the wrestler was a decent high school wrestler - he is going to have the guy down on the ground before he can throw a punch. And once that guy is laying on his back - his punches are useless.

Anybody that thinks a boxer is going to stand anything other than a one punch chance against a wrestler - is kidding themselves.

I don't know what your situation is, but for most people, knocking down a pro boxer is not that easy.

I guess you didn't see the Courture V Toney fight.[/quote]

 @ you for comparing "most people" to a professional fighter.

If its true he deserves to go to jail.

I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Sad he couldn't learn from his father's mistakes.

Did you all watch how Toney got his ass handed to him so easily a couple of weeks ago. Boxing is totally different than a regular street fight.

Nope, just a boxer is no longer a boxer once he is on the ground.

*shrug* It depends on a lot of things. Mostly, how good of a fighter is CJ? CJ has a lot of weight on Mayweather, which ought to be a huge advantage. If CJ can grapple him without taking a huge punch he should be able to just wrestle him to the ground and win that way. Obviously that's a huge if, but doable.

6" and 40 pounds negates a lot of skill advantage.

I am sorry CJ has no chance. You forget a couple things:

1. Mayweather is insane ...
2. He has 41-0 career record he's very good at what he does
3. CJ has no formal fighting training
4. Did I mention Mayweather is insane? Its like if Ray Lewis was givin formal fighting training.
5. Also just because Mayweather is put to the ground is not like all of sudden he can't fight I am sure he'd do fine in a ground and pound with CJ (again who plays basketball he's not a fighter)

Who knows CJ could know Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Heck I bet no one knew Ed O'Neill is a BJJ black belt under the Gracie's. Paul Walker is also someone that I wouldn't mess with, he's good at BJJ as well.

Ughhh...

If he was boxing he wouldn't have the time to get into **** like this. As a long time fan of his I'm disappointed. Now realistically I'm hoping he gets a celeb get out of jail free card at least until he can fight Pacquiao next year

First I am a SUPER SUPER SUPER big Mayweather fan, have been since his very first fight. Do we know CJ never wrestled or took BJJ? I wrote above that I bet no one knew Ed O'Neill was a black belt in BJJ and Paul Walker last time I checked was a purple belt. Kevin James is a black belt is some form of martial arts. We have no clue about CJ

Have you ever boxed, or took any MMA classes before. I use to train at a gym when I was younger boxing and my brother has done BJJ for about 4 years now and I've done a little of that and also Muay Thai which is stand up.

There's a big difference between being in a ring with rules and actually doing MMA/ street fight. All people are saying is if Mayweather doesn't knock CJ out with his first punch there's a good chance CJ can use his size and get Floyd to the ground and negate his boxing.

I understand where you're coming from, but I think what you're not getting is...
IT'S PRETTY BOY FLOYD VS CJ WATSON! Watson's 6'2 175 lbs. If we were talking Ben Wallace vs Mayweather this might be a discussion.
