His ceiling is much hither than Melo...that's why they are overrating him, because they're projecting his peak potential.

The kid is an amazing shooter who is supposedly a legit 6'11" even though he's listed as less than that.

Either way, didn't get to watch any of the games, but looking at the box scores it looks like LO was maybe the 2nd best player on the team. Nice job, Lamar.

If Durant is really this good, Artest must have done a hell of a job.

Way to go USA.. LO was a steady force like he does on the Lakers.

Durant was unstopable. He is only 21. Portland is thing why the hell did we pass on him. Portland drafted a old looking player that has alreay missed a years worth of games in his short 3 year career. Can we say flashbacks of Jordan not being drafted by the blazers. Blazers just suck.

Kevin Durant is not overrated but his defense does need some fine tuning.
He's only 21 years old and I am pretty sure he will get better in that department each and every year.

He single handlely defeated Turkey in the first half.

L.O with 15 points and 11 boards too!!!

USA!!! USA!!! USA!!! USA!!! USA!!! :usa:

Yeah LO was huge. I don't think he scored a single point in the first half. Once Turkey focused on not allowing Durant to get the ball in the 2nd half, Lamar stepped up and took on the scoring load.

I'm really happy for Odom. He showed a lion's heart and courage by going there right after back to back championships and he sure was rewarded pretty fine for that.

I read somewhere that he was #1 in rebs and #2 in scoring for team USA. That's pretty phenomenal to say the least. My only gripe is that unless Drew stays healthy he might be very jaded by the time playoffs roll around.

I'd consider resting him for the entire preseason and may be use sparingly for the first 10-15 games or so.

+1 After the run Lamar's had I don't think conditioning should be that big of an issue if he can manage to lay off the candy.

if you guys play them in the playoffs again this year i think he will do MUCH better. Like people have already stated he is only 21 and is better at that age than nearly every player in history at that same age. His defense has shown improvement in these championships also.

Odom was a cow out there with little utters. So congrats to him for overcoming a little extra adversity, too.

We'll see regarding Durant, I'll agree he's a stud at his age - but he still neds improvement in: rebounding, defense, and playmaking for me to put him in that top echelon w/ Kobe, Bron, etc.

He was phenomenal in the tourney, but we all know FIBA play is different to NBA.
But time is on the kid's side.

Well, it's not as if he didn't have a phenomenal NBA season before that, postseason lockdown courtesy of Mr. Artest notwithstanding.

He lacks in those other areas, but for what he does, he's about as good as it gets. The best part is, it never seems like he's hogging the ball or going out of the way to get his. Knows how to get free without the ball, attacks quickly and efficiently.

For any true fan of the game, he's just a pleasure to watch. If he stays healthy, he's going to have one of the truly great careers we've ever seen.

And props to Lamar for all the dirty work. He still had his Odumb moments, but on the whole he was our second-best player, especially in the title game -- when it counted.

He played extremely well, especially considering his center position.

Odom was great! For those who didn't watch every game or more than one how can you say he was just aiiight?! You guys are clowns. Odom played like a Champ he was the 2nd leading scorer and was clutch when it was on the line. The media and the NBA wanted it to be the Durrant and Rose show at FIBA. Instead it turned into the Durrant and Odom show. Would you really expect Odom to give less than effort he gave? Kobe would never let him live that down.

This FIBA tourney taught Durrant how to play tough. He got none of the calls he usually get in the NBA. At times I could tell it was almost getting to him. But he was determined each time he put his head down and went to the cup. When they wouldn't let him inside he softened them up immensely from NBA 3 range. BAM in yo face!
