I'm not even kidding you when I say Shaq started the fight on his knees. I think people underrate how much of an advantage being noticeably bigger than your opponent is in a street fight. If Mayweather blindsided JJ or CJ, maybe he would have a shot but JJ is a trained kickboxer and CJ I would assume wouldn't give Floyd the room to "box defensively." The real question is who ya got? Floyd or Kirk? Very different fighting styles.

I really don't give a flying ****. You guys can think that JJ is an elite level striker all you want, this is the most absurd debate I've taken part of in a long while. The type of gym that JJ's father runs is a Taekwondo gym. Here's the list of the blackbelts that he's given out (http://jandpstkka.com/blackbelts.html). I have never seen JJ's striking in any shape or form and I've watched enough of these kinds of "martial arts" classes to know that very little of the things they teach translate over to real fights. Let me know when a dude practicing Taekwon-do wins anything significant in MMA or K1.

JJ beat the **** out of that hillbilly brawler because he's a freak of an athlete (as evidenced by his place in the NBA despite limited actual basketball skills).

JJ has spent his life learning martial arts from a 6th degree blackbelt, who cares what type of gym the guy runs to feed his family. The idea that the father who was a world champion and is a 6th degree blackbelt is incompetent is completely absurd, as is the idea that JJ's training isn't legit. He was a tournament fighter in kickboxing and has fought at least one MMA fight.

JJ's been training under that guy his whole life and hasn't just learned striking but also grappling techniques. Floyd isn't going to know how to defend himself against a simple leg take down or any other kick boxing moves because he's never had to while JJ will certainly know how to defend himself from punches.

Throw on the fact that there's a 75 lb weight and foot height advantage and this isn't close. Floyd might be able to land a lucky punch, but he's simply too short to even have any success hitting JJ in the head, because the angle is so bad. All he could do is throw body blows, but if he gets in close, it becomes a grappling match and then JJ would pound the hell out of him given that he's almost certainly 10x the grappler that Floyd is and has a massive physical advantage.

I do agree with you that the conversation is absurd, I just find it interesting that we can both feel that way on opposite sides of the argument.
