Damp Waived - Bring Him In!

Post#1 » by TheMan44 » Tue Sep 14, 2010 9:58 pm

Dampier just got waived. Not a superb player, but is a hell of a better defensive option than Frye or in case Lopez gets injured or foul trouble.

If price is right, cheap, and short-term - why not bring him in this season? You probably have to waive Dwayne Jones to make some room at center for Damp to get it done:

C Lopez - Damp - Lawal
F Frye - Hakim - Clark
F Hedo - Hill - Dudley
G Rich - Child - Jann
G Nash - Drag - Jann

Paul Coro said in one article that we are opening to bring "the right center" and release the contract of Jones, and Paul named Dampier like a possibility.
I think he is a good player to defend the post and rebound, if he earns less than 2 millions I would do it.

Damp turned down 2.2mill from the Bobcats.

I think he is looking at more cash.

bringing in Dampier would give us some serious depth. since apparently FO isnt gnna resign Duds, if we bring Dampier, we can move Hedo to SF and Hill off the bench. Or keep Duds in case Hill retires.

Nash - Dragic
JRich - JChill
Hedo - Hill - Duds
Frye - Warrick - Clark
Dampier - Lopez - Lawal

I think you made a mistake, you put Dampier starting over Lopez, and i know there is no way in hell that you could have done that intentionally.

Apparently he's looking at joining a contender. Miami is his top destination according to wiretap.

He should go to Miami.

If he came, we'd be a contender. He's fine if its just for a few minutes.

I'd rather throw Jones in there for rebounding purposes, but he's still otherwise raw offensively.

Not excited about the up coming season. Thank god I'm coaching football and watching it on Sat and Sunday, but these lineups would have me a little more stoked.

I'm not interested in seeing Hedo play the 4, it's just totally ridiculous. Grant needs to come of off the bench, I don't give a damn how nice he is.

^^^^That team could get a top 2 seed!

I'd be surprised if we sign him. The size and presence would help but i am just not too high on this guy.

No need for him Suns fans. I'm sure you all already know where he is going to end up, eventually.

Waste of time even thinking about Dampier.

1. he's not that good

2. he's going to Miami like all the rest of the sellouts.

Let's trade for a real POWER FORWARD. We don't need a backup center we need a 4 man.

David West, Jason Thompson those kind of guys. I'd kill for Kevin Love.

So we let Lou walk away because he was too expensive, but we want to sign Dampier for even more money??

LOL. What Suns fan wouldn't be down???

Those types of trades only happen in 2K10. Even David Kahn wouldn't be stupid enough to pull the trigger.

now Amare is gone, Damps won't get humiliated and demoralized in the practice all the time. could be a wise move

I am really confused by this post.

So if he came we would be a contender. This implies Dampier is the missing link for us being a contender.

Then he is fine for just a few minutes. So does a few minutes of "fine" Dampier make us a contender?

Then you would rather play Jones, who is already on the roster. If he is better than Dampier, wouldn't this mean we are already a contender?

Throughout your post, you went from:
1) Dampier being the missing link to a potential championship.
2) Dampier being ok, if it's just for a few minutes.
3) Dampier not even being an upgrade at all.

Which is it? :D
