First Game First Line Up

Post#1 » by mjvile » Tue Sep 14, 2010 7:15 pm

I want to get your guys predictions on who Sloan is going to go with in the first preseason game line up. Do you think Sloan is going to give CJ a chance to prove him self in the preseason over Bell or is he going to give Bell the chance? Let me know what you all think.

My perdictions

Preseason game 1 Portland at Utah

My Prediction:

D-Will/Price
Bell/CJ
AK 47/Hayward
Paul/Evens
Big AL/Fes

Utah starts off a little shaky but wins 97-101

As good as CJ was during the playoffs, you dont bench him.
My line up would swap CJ and Bell

Its hard to predict preseason lineups, Jerry gives a lot of players a chance to start.

But I think your prediction is the most likely.

I dont think Bell would have come to the Jazz if they were not going to start him. Cj will play huge bench minutes like Sap used too. I would love to start CJ over bell but this team was put together for defence and Bell, Ak, Sap, and Al works best for that!

For the preseason I think we'll see both Miles and Hayward start.

more important is regular season and I just have a feeling that AK-47 going to come off the bench even though I would rather have him start. I really think Sloan is going to start Bell and CJ. Let me put it this way, there is no way CJ is coming off the bench when the regular season starts. He has worked hard on his game and if you bench him then he will regress and I think Sloan knows that. The real question is whether AK-47 starts or Bell starts. I would think you start AK-47 but just have a feeling that SLoan's anti-AK-47 feelings come into play and Bell starts.

Bell will come off the bench. It makes no sense to bench Miles or AK47.

DWill, Price
Miles, Bell
Hayward, AK
Jefferson, Millsap
Elson, Fesenko

Bell missed a lot of games last year. I can see the Jazz starting him, but just playing him a few minutes, purely to see him in game shape.

You know, I was not a big Bell fan when he played for the Jazz. And now that he's older, I doubt he improved much. He does have a veteran presence, he's a great outside shooter and a tough (although overrated) defender IMO. And, although CJ has improved, he still has mental lapses on defense and he's too in love with his jumper. AK should start IMO no matter who starts with him. We were considerably better last year when he was starting and I don't really see what either Bell or CJ have done to earn a starting spot over him.

I agree. Going into last year i thought CJ would get most improved.I say that again for him this year. He looks alot stronger and i think will earn his starting position. More importantly sloan really like Wes and CJ last year. With wes gone, i think CJ is one of Sloans favorites.

Dwill
Bell
CJ
Sap
Big Al

With Price and the white knights coming off the bench (hayward, Ak,Fes, Okur)

I agree that CJ is the future but I think if Bell is healthy CJ should be our 6th man. He will get plenty of minutes backing up both the 2 and 3. My line up 3 deep with minutes.

Williams-36, Price-12, gaines (I still hope we get a better backup PG)
Bell-30, CJ-18, Price?
AK-24, CJ-18, Hayward-6
Sap-34, AK-10, Jefferson-4
Jefferson-32, Fes-10, Elson-6

CJ could still get as many if not more minutes as the 6th man
