Bush to be stripped of Heisman

Post#1 » by craig01 » Tue Sep 7, 2010 10:07 pm

Yahoo sports is reporting that the Heisman Trust will strip Reggie Bush of his award.

There will be no award given for that season and will remain vacant.

this is a travesty of a system....ok so they gonna strip him, and usc has gotten rid of everything associated with him on campus, so here is my question, has USC given back the MILLIONS it made off bush?

b/c if no(which it is), i think that is really hypocritical

It is.

But that's the system....lol

USC is paying a huge price however, and will be affected for the next 4-5 years immensely.

what on earth are you guys yappin about? USC is the victim here. we are victims to the almighty NCAA and their witchhunt to flex muscle, show power, reveal to everyone who is the boss, and totally slandered a great program.

THE EMPIRE WILL RISE AGAIN!

but the NCAA needs have a show of force, and in the end, USCs program will be the victors for the travesty of justice!

Well it looks like you can add Tennessee to the new "victim" list in both football and basketball.

The football stuff will take awhile before the UT program becomes a "victim".

usc is not the victim...they knew what was going on, but turned the other way....every1 does this, its just a matter of who gets caught

its just hypocritical for bush to lose everything, but for usc to keep the millions they made off him

But every HS recruit gets offered a free education, room and board, free medical care, free tutoring as long as they agree to fulfill their obligations.....one of which is to abide by NCAA regulations.

Most players do, but many do not. Some get caught, but many are more discreet.

But to those who complain about all of the money the schools make should remember that the players don't have to play football. It may seem like a one sided deal for a handful of players every year, but for the thousands of kids that play without the accolades and lacking the talent, the deal is a bargain.

Furthermore, since Title IX, that revenue pays for all of those other sports too.

I have to "pay" for my daughter's education at UCF, and also have to pay for her room and board, transportation, and medical expenses. She is however able to accept any gifts that she wishes.

Finally, those handful of exceptional players are rewarded immediately with guaranteed money once they enter the NFL draft.

And justice is served too, as those newbies entering into the NFL receive far greater compensation than the majority of veteran players. Then go ask the vets how they feel about that situation....

That was really shocking news for me and I was really surprised that how this can happen to him. Ironically there was no sportsman for this title, to whom this could be awarded.
