Eric Dampier anyone?

Post#1 » by MadNESS » Wed Sep 15, 2010 3:21 pm

I think he would be the perfect back up for Bynum, also giving us major insurance (knock on wood)

What do you think?

Fisher / Blake
Kobe / Brown / Sasha
Artest / Barnes / Ebanks
Gasol / Odom / Caracter
Bynum / Dampier / Ratliff

I don't ever see us carrying 15 players, but he's still a very serviceable player.

Yeah 15 players is a bit much for our roster... But he'll be a good backup. I doubt we'll pick him up considering how much we wanted to move sasha in order to save money

If miami gets him... it'll only be because they want to counter the celtics bigs. So far the celtics are the biggest in the league but also probably the slowest hehe.

Atlanta should go after him. Size in the post really limiting them at this time.

Yeah a big pick up for the HAWKS and even bigger pick up for the HEAT. Let's hope the HAWKS do the smart thing.

would be a great move for Atlanta, which would push Horford to his natural 4 position. I would have said a big hell yes to this had we not had Theo. He would be more useful than Theo, but no way 15 players find time with our team...maybe waive Theo sign Eric? not really worth it

If we hadn't signed Theo I think the Lakers would have at least considered signing him.

What happened to Miami?

Does Gloria James like Eric Dampier or something?

I would love him with the Lakers. There is no sure thing the 2 rookies will make the team or even play as Phil hates young players. Waive the rookies and get a player in here that will help the team. Any place but the Heat would be a good thing for the Lakers.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. First, Phil doesn't "hate" rookies. He simply doesn't trust them enough to depend on them too heavily. Second, the concept of waving Ebanks and/or Caracter for Erick-freakin-Dampier is asinine. No way we are cutting loose two steals who have a lot of potential and a promising future. I'd like to get Dampier, and especially with the potential of Bynum getting hurt (God forbid), but not at the cost of the rooks.

I think Dampier will go for the biggest pay day he could get.

The Lakers and Heat cannot deliver that.

I read yesterday that he has already declined an offer from some team that was more than the vet's minimum, so those odds don't look so good.

That's actually a good idea. That is probably where he will go since they whiffed on Shaq.
