Would anyone be interested in a podcast?

Post#1 » by Stanford » Thu Sep 16, 2010 11:40 pm

We've all got opinions, ideas and things to say here. I know whenever I'm listening to/watching a show about pro wrestling, I constantly have things I'd like to say to the host. Quite frankly, I think we've got some smart people on this board who have interesting things to say about the WWE, both on a micro and macro level.

I usually listen to Cornette's Commentary and I try to listen to Live Action Wrestling on Sirius, as well at Right After Wrestling on TheScore (although it's on at a difficult time and it's not available as a podcast), and I think we could at least do something as good as those ones, and maybe better.

I was starving for some wrestling chat last week so I decided to check out some of the other podcasts on who's slamming who. So I checked out this one:

http://whosslammingwho.podomatic.com/en ... 5_33-07_00

It's ah, not very good. Very amateur sounding. Little insight, or interesting points. One of them said The Miz was one of the best scientific wrestler in the company, which seems like an odd thing to say for a smark.

So I'm just throwing it out there. Would anybody be interested in participating in a podcast? No pressure on you. I would host it, and we could simply just go through that weeks RAW and maybe SD! and discuss how we think matches and promos went, where storylines are going etc. We could also discuss some of the threads on the board. I know sh00n for example doesn't watch the weekly shows, but always has some great ideas when it comes to long term booking and knows his history. It might get us all watching the weekly shows more, ergo more traffic on the board, plus it could be fun.

So, would anybody be interested? I wouldn't want to put out a crumby product, so by interested I also mean do you think you could be dedicated enough.

I'm down I guess....but I don't really know what a podcast is. If you can quickly explain that, that would be great.

It's just like a radio show, but recorded and (sometimes) edited. Then hosted online to be available for download later.

I'd host and edit it from my computer. Everyone else would call in and we'd just discuss stuff. Or I could shell over some cash for skype calls as long as you had a mic. Something would be figured out.

I'm not much of a talker so I doubt I'd participate, but if you did this I'm sure I'd listen!

Hey Everyone, Newbie to the forums, look forward to discussing wrestling with fellow wrestling fans.

Not only will I be willing to participate Stanford but I will co-host the show with you. How and When can we start?

I can host it just fine. Glad to have you aboard though.

I was just gauging interest at this point. Looks like some people are interested so I'll start it when I've got a little time. I need a new mic too.

You show is not complete without Cliff Levingston. Though, since Cliff Levingston wouldn't be too interested in doing it, it looks like it'll never be complete! Muah haha!

Just kidding. Good luck with that. Let Cliff Levingston know if you want him to be a special guest star but it wouldn't be something Cliff Levingston would want to put a whole heck of a lot of time into.
