Stars almost universally make bad managers, and I doubt expect Robbie to be an exception; he was just too naturally gifted. Guys like that just get frustrated in the long run when their players don't live up to their high expectations.
Also, Joe Torre is way old, and even if he isn't retiring, he's not taking a job this year, certainly not with someone who isn't a WS contender.
