6 months ago - this thread would be at 50 pages by now. I sense that people are not into the Raptors as they once were here in RealGM.

Wait until Davis develops a 3 point shot and a thick European accent.

for the record, because people always seem confused by the terms, a sprain is a tear of a ligament or cartilage; a strain is a tear of the muscle or tendon. so a strain/sprain is a tear, just it can be a tiny bit of damage or almost a complete rupture. and one is ligaments the other is muscle

I hope sump cheers up and finds his stash, but I guess I am the only one that didnt find that outburst funny. It was pretty sad.

Anyways Ed Davis shouldnt be playing against scrubs. wtf were they thinking. You can be up against some dude that barely knows basketball and can **** your **** up.

Hope hes ok by training camp.

Sean May. Brandan Wright. Tyler Hansbrough. Now Ed Davis. Does UNC have the most injury prone forwards in the league?

Hopefully they chose the conservative approach. This kid is just starting out. Plus we've got power fowards for days.

True. Let him have whatever time he needs to get this injury right, and throw in an extra week for good measure.

ahh man, panace mode! i knew BC was is a bad position to pick up Davis in the draft. High prospect dropped to our slot but with injury problem, plus it's the last position I would want BC to draft with bargnani and Amir Johnson who are both natural PFs. sad

Well, two of the power forwards drafted ahead of Davis - Udoh and Monroe - have already had surgery this summer. Udoh is by far the more serious; he's out until after Christmas. Monroe should be fine by now.

Okay let's settle down. I was merely being a pessimist but some of you guys are going into PANAC mode already.

If the tear is not that bad it can be played through , but you have to be able to put up with the pain.

Same here, tore my meniscus playing for the Varsity Blues (UofT) and was out for about 3 weeks before I started working out again. That's why I was curious to know if you can actually sprain a meniscus, figured tears were pretty much standard since we're talking about a real thin piece of cartilege. Shouldn't be too much of an issue unless it detiorates to the point of no return where the cartilege isn't separating one bone from another. But even then, microfacture surgery has gotten to the point where it'll be a normal procedure in the future.

My only issue now (age 33) is that my knee retains fluid but that's to be expected since I'm not in peak physical shape like these animals.

Hey Matt, thanks for the clarification, always looked as "strains" similar to hyper extensions (if that makes sense).

So who are the backups? Dorsey? Andersen? Evans? Alabi?

They all suck.

Honestly speaking, Ed hadn't played competitive ball for the last 8 months anywas. For the first couple of months it won't make a damn diffence either way. Even then I don't expect Ed not be in the rotation on opening night.

That's the beauty of this season, there should be zero expectations except personal player growth and Ed could miss the first quarter of the season (he won't) and still put in the work.

Ah, good to see you back HP.

Hey, BC seems to have lined everything up perfectly for a "true" rebuild huh? Shed Hedo's contract and was this close to unloading Twitch as well.

What are your thoughts now? Don't see any scenarion where we could rebuild (tank?) any better than this right?

What are your thoughts on PG prospects like Irving/Knight/Selby? Hell, how do YOU feel about Harrison Barnes, Perry Jones or Enes Kanter?

Stop smiling HP, you're starting to make people blush.

BTW, everyone (outside of Cosmo) is as worried about the TPE and the Banks/Evans expirings as you are.

**** it, time to jubilate brother, how does the first "true" rebuild feel?
