Re: Rockets offer two-year contract to Dampier
Dampier is an anchor and he will bring defense to this team, but I'm not sure if I like this move or not. We could use Dampier but in addition to Miller let's not forget that Chuck is a decent backup as well. My guess is that signing Dampier could lead to a trade.

I would rather have Brooks over Nash and Bud over Hill at this stage in their careers.

I dont like Ericka but it helps Yao and our Center depth, therefore helping the team. I say why not?
But unk that Nash trade. I dont think he's 75% the player out of that system, makes Brook's D look like Lowry's, and talent is due to fall off at any moment. No, Thanks.

The part that bothers me is (as pointed out previously) that we have Miller on a 5m contract now, too.
Does this make Miller Morey's first bad contract, or was he brought on for other reasons?
Well, we absolutely had to get Miller so we could have a back up, and other teams were competing for him. Add in that it's really only a 2 year deal, and I don't mind. Whether we pay him 4 or 5 million in the first year is something that really doesn't concern me.
But do you know what they call a fool, who's full of himself and jumps into the path of death because it's cool?

I thought he signed a 3-year deal, with the third-year being partially guaranteed.

I think that's what he was refering to with 'really only a 2 year deal'.
It's $4,400,000 in 10/11, $4,752,000 in 11/12 and the final year is $5,104,000 with $848,000 guaranteed.

I've been trying to get a deal like that at my office for YEARS. I keep tellin 'em, "yeah, but year 3 you're only on the hook for 800k". They sigh. I press the issue. Then they remind me I currently make about as much as a kid with a good paper route.
"But at least I'm giving you that OPTION, see?"
Nothing yet.

right now, nash is still better than brooks as a point guard.
and he's a 50% shooter from the floor
lowry is being paid like a starter and has starter talent
so when Nash's contract is up in 2012 then Kyle can take over
i agree about bud vs hill.
Nash vs Brooks head to head last year
11/17/09 (Suns Win)
Brooks - 16 pts on 5/18 shooting, 13 assists vs 1 turnover
Nash - 12 points on 2/10 shooting, 16 assists vs 3 turnovers
1/6/10 (Suns Win)
Brooks - 34 points on 11/22 shooting, 5 assists vs 4 turnovers
Nash - 26 points on 11/16 shooting, 12 assists vs 6 turnovers
1/31/10 (Suns Win)
Brooks - 24 points on 8/22 shooting, 6 assists vs 2 turnovers
Nash - 11 points on 2/10 shooting, 16 assists vs 0 turnovers
4/11/10 (Suns Win)
Brooks - 22 points on 7/18 shooting, 6 assists vs 5 turnovers
Nash - 23 points on 8/12 shooting, 11 assists vs 3 turnovers
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

I completely forgot about the third year being a partial guarantee. Should have known better than to doubt. Is it too late to plead the fifth?

Would be interesting if we were able to sign a free agent away from Miami since supposedly it's between us and the Heat.
Miami's centers: Joel Anthony, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Jamaal Magloire, Dexter Pittman
Houston's centers: Yao Ming, Brad Miller, Chuck Hayes, Jordan Hill
