Just at a glance, I see Russell totals 18 votes while the others all total 16. Is that a typo?

Yup. I just copied the table from a previous thread and forgot to take out that field. It's been corrected, and shouldn't have affected the points at all (since I calculated them on paper before typing them in).

I'm wondering is Oscar going to finish higher than 3rd any year?

If not, it's no reflection on, or slight against, him--just bad luck to be going against Wilt and Russ the whole time.

Oscar's actually done a little better than I expected, share wise. I thought people would put him below West a lot cause of team success and he'd really get burned with 4th places every year. But Oscar's great ORTGs helped him get through those mediocre W/L records. He should end up around Kobe which is about right

Anyway to update the title to say Voting complete?

Hey, not that this is Bush v. Gore or anything, but I think you miscounted the Pettit/West votes, because drza and I both had Pettit at #4.

I'm not really particular either way because I think West is a great candidate at #4 as well, plus I like him a lot.

Also I think he counted a few posters twice. Some posters give there rankings twice. I know Dr Mufasa does at times.

 Actually, I missed drza entirely. Recalculated the tally (see below).

And no, JB, pretty sure I got everyone (now including drza) once: You, Dr Mufasa, penbeast0, drza, tkb, semi-sentient, Dr MJ, TrueLAFan, ronnymac2, bastillon, Sedale Threatt, fatal9, shawngoat23, DavidStern, tharegul8r, myself, and ElGee.

Site updated: www.dolem.com/poy

Wilt moves up past Dr J. and is now eye-balling Shaq, Bird, and Duncan. Russell leap frogs Kobe, Hakeem, and Malone to take the #9 spot just being Dr. J. I'm expecting russell to pass both Dr J and Wilt after the next round of voting is completed. West is likely done moving up, but he did pass up both Garnett and Malone.

Back again.

I want to thank OP for shouldering the load while I was gone, and everyone else for their politeness and additional sets of eyes. The whole tallying process is pain-staking, and it's easy to make mistakes, particularly if you're new to it, and the old guy doesn't tell you everything.

Cheers,
Doc
