I still know that he's the best all-around player of his generation. Better than Duncan, better than Kobe, better than Shaq. In the era after Bird and before LeBron, nobody put it all together like K.G.

You never saw KG and Troy Hudson run us ragged in the playoffs for two years, did you (the only time that the T'wolves were really worth watching)? Would I go as far as to say he is the best all-around player of his generation... eh, but best all around big man? Most likely.

He did carry an absolutely terrible team into the Playoffs almost every if not every year though.

as far as i'm concerned both kobe and dirk were better all around players.

Carry them to the first round and then drop them off for 7 straight years, before Cassell and Spree bailed him out. I'm sorry, KG was a great player, but any team relying on him to be the number 1 option on offense was never going to win a championship. That's why he needed Pierce and Allen, and that's why KG is not the best all-around player of his generation.

He's at his best when he's not even the best player on his team.

You mean like Kobe who won 4 playoff games in 3 years as the #1 man. KG did more as the man than Kobe did. It's a lot easier to look better when you have Gasol/Shaq on your team than when you have Kwame Brown.

You mean like Kobe who won 2 championships in 6 years as the #1 man. KG did more as the man than Kobe did. It's a lot easier to look better when you have Gasol/Shaq on your team than when you have Kwame Brown.

Pau Gasol was just as important in the finals. He wasn't the one going 6-24 in the biggest game. I like Kobe, but Lakers have a tendency to forget that Kobe didn't do anything at all until he got help. Same with KG.

I've heard through the grapevine that Yahoo Sports is based out of Northern California. ( Bay Area)

Besides the die hard Lakers fans up north,
well I'm assuming we all know how much Northern California despises anything Los Angeles especially in sports.

You can say that for every superstar who ever on a championship. Hakeem Olajuwon is the only one who won a title without a definitive #2 (93-94)

People love to use the 6-24 game against Kobe. But do you know there was another player who shot around 25% in the last game of an NBA finals series but still got MVP. I'll give you a hint. http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/199606160CHI.html
