My prediction: Paul George will make an All-Rookie team

Post#1 » by chube » Sat Sep 18, 2010 5:17 pm

I have a feeling he'll be the starting SG by the end of the season, whether or not he starts at the beginning is anybody's guess.

All-Rookie 1st Team:

John Wall
Blake Griffin
Evan Turner
Derrick Favors
Wesley Johnson

All-Rookie 2nd Team:

DeMarcus Cousins
Paul George
Damion James
Greg Monroe
Cole Aldrich

My prediction: He won't flourish for a few years.

Agreed. Hope we're wrong, but he wasn't nearly aggressive enough on the offensive end in summer league. Just spot up at the three point line (kind of like the bad habit Granger has gotten into lately). In order for us to be good Granger has to not settle for 3's and jumpers. If anyone remembers the home game last year against the Cavs, he's got to perform like that. Driving to the basket hard, getting fouled. Hitting the free ones.

If the T-Mac comparisons are true, we'll need to trade him away for beans and have him develop into a superstar with another team.

Saw on Mike Wells blog that some in the organization say he (George) is more advanced than Granger was at this point. i thought from day 1 Granger was a capable rotation guy. If that's all true 2nd team all rookie isn't out of the question.

^^^ That's true. When I look at some of the rookies who made the All-2nd team last season, they had James Harden (9.9/3.2/1.8/1.0/0.2), DeJuan Blair (7.8/6.4/0.8/0.2/0.3), and Jonas Jerebko (9.3/6.0/0.7/1.0/0.4). Along with Jonny Flynn and Marcus Thornton, both who averaged 13+ a game. So to make the All-2nd team, you don't exactly have to light it up...just be a consistent player who some flair and potential.
