OT Wolves Board League (Fantasy)

Post#1 » by Busch Legion » Sun Sep 19, 2010 4:53 am

We going to renew that bad boy? I should be able to draft this year, and not finish third to last. I would like to play with Wolves fans in a league this year.... the Commissioner was a dude named Matt.

Was it on Yahoo? I'm not finding it in my leagues. And I'm 98% positive the Commish (Matt) would be dunkonu21

I was commish of the league you were talking about. McFale313 was champ, I finished 2nd in a heartbreaking 5-4 loss.
Was a good league, pretty competitive and no one abandoned their team like happens sometimes. Autodrafting definitely hurt more than a few people.

I'll start it back up when I get a chance and send out emails with the info to those who played last year giving them first chance at unseating the mighty McFalians.

There was talk about keeping 2-3 players from last year for each team, and that's something I'm in favor of if we can reach a consensus, in addition to setting the draft order (after keepers are set) by last year's record (worst drafts first) instead of random. The order would still be snaking, so tanking really wouldn't benefit you too much.

There was also a 20 team league and a roto league that were set up by another poster that I played in that were a lot of fun.

All Done. Invites have been sent out. I will set up the same divisions as last year, except Jefferson division becomes the Beasley division. Same rules.

I encourage everyone to set their draft boards in case they get stuck autodrafting, and try out the yahoo mock drafts going on, they are a good way to see how drafts are shaking out.
If you can't play, let me know so I can get a replacement.

A new feature this year is that yahoo gives us the option of doing an auction draft (salary cap) for the first time which could be pretty interesting.

I am unable to do it this year, if J_Era_3 wants to do it for me.

Thanks for letting me know early twolves7. J_era_3, you have his spot. Since I can't PM, I'd have to post the leagueID/password here, and I don't want to do that until I've gotten everyone who wants to play from last year signed in, because someone might think it's an open invitation, and then I have to boot them. Klomp do you have PM power? maybe you could PM the league ID/password to him.

You can change your team name all year, so you're no necessarily stuck with what you sign in as.
Sometimes I change mine after the draft to better reflect the guys I've drafted. I think I've got everyone in the right divisions so far.

Yeah I think 2 keepers might be best. Hopefully Klomp can improve on that last place finish with the #1 pick. Steph Curry was drafted in the 120's last year, and Yahoo has him 6th overall this year,
so things can change in a hurry, even with keepers.

I don't think the league will underestimate the McFalians this year. Wearing those Cosby sweaters and taking weeks off for fishing trips kinda lulled us into thinking you were a little soft.
You were the Wil Wheaton to my Sheldon Cooper in the 2 leagues where I finished 2nd to you.
I did win the Roto league though.

Anyone watch "The League" on FX? There's some pretty hilarious fantasy-sports-related stuff on that show.

That was me :D .

I'm available this year if you need a replacement or want to extend the number of teams, unless you're all scared (3rd place in the 20 teamer last year)... 8-)
----------------

I've seen "the league", and I'm a bit unimpressed with the research. Aaron Rodgers going in the 3rd round? Even if it's only an 8 team league, that's way too late. I think it would be better if the cast didn't consist of D-list comic's who usually do the crappy VH1/MTV countdown/talk about pop culture shows.

Yeah we have 8 now, I hope for atleast 10. And like I said i'm down with keeper. 2 does sound fair. Besides, I only have 2 guys worth keeping anyway lol. Stupid auto pick.

I'm assuming J-Squad is you J-Era3? If so, here is what you'd have to choose from for keepers:
LM Aldridge, C Billups, C Boozer, T Chandler, E Dampier, T Evans, R Fernandez, D Galinari, M Gasol, J Green, S Hawes, J Howard, OJ Mayo, T Prince, B Roy.
Pretty nice roster T-wolves7 compiled for you to choose from. Do you go with the old reliable in Billups or the young stud Evans?

Breakdown, if we have a 2nd team drop out you have dibs for that spot. 12 teams is perfect for the setup I like to use (weekly lineup changes, 15 man roster, play 12 players).
I am still waiting on confirmation from 4 teams from last year:
Cloud City Miners, Krapinsky's Killaz, Marko Jaric, and the Berginators.
I'll hold the spot until oct. 10, that will give any replacements a couple weeks research time.

So far we have 3 votes for 2 keepers. You down with that Klomp?

Wow, I had a bad team last year. Draft will be in reverse order of last years record, right? (hint, hint)
