ESPN Video - Bears on the clock

Post#1 » by emperorjones » Wed Apr 9, 2008 6:58 pm

ESPN Experts talk Bears & Draft. Kiper says we go O-Line in the 1st, Quarterback in the 2nd and gives Benson a vote of confidence.

can't tell if this is for ESPN Insiders only....since I am one :)

Overall, they are down on the Bears, although Kiper seems to see a path to regaining the glory - starting with the O-Line. Moving Tait back to right tackle and drafting a stud left tackle.

I agree with Mel Kiper. I still have faith in Benson, more so than I do with Grossman. Our line was so pathetic last year, and there were no open holes to run through all season long. If you give Benson just a yard extra to work with he will charge his way through to pick up the extra yard.

We can only hope. Regardless of anyone's opinion of Benson, the fact remains that our line is pretty pathetic right now, and any back would have problems gaining yards behind it. Mendenhall is a nice prospect but we need to fix this line with first round talent first.
