Hawk for Lynch seems ideal for both teams. Hope TT/MM aren't too enamored w/ Hawk to trade him

Sounds more like the Bills are too enamored with Lynch.

Jordy Nelson quietly had a pretty good day returning the ball.

Jordy Nelson is a pretty damn good player, IMO.
He is shocking me with his returns, but a lot of that has to do with us having excellent blocking as well. I think he's a damn good WR when he gets the opportunity to get out onto the field. He's not very fast, but he does a great job running routes, getting open and he has very good hands.

Hawk also very quietly had a solid game, he was the one hitting Edwards on that interception he threw.

Yeah, Hawk played a solid game. I've never hated him as a player, I have always thought he was solid and a good NFL player.
He'll never live up to the expectations that were put on him in Green Bay though. Just look at the people around here who talk about him like he is just some totally worthless pile of garbage as a player. He is massively overpaid and a bust for where we selected him... But in the end he is solid, especially against running teams. I have a feeling he'll go to another team and they'll be happy with him as a very good back-up or a slightly below average starter on a reasonable contract.

Yep, if we had gotten him in the 4th round people would evaluate him as a solid starter. I agree he is overpaid and in hindsight not worthy of the #5 overall pick but he is far from garbage and the worst player in the NFL as some around here have called him.

From a Bills forum on what plays Edwards has on his wrist:
Play 1. Check down to WR
Play 2. Check down to TE
Play 3. Check down to RB
Play 4. Check down to RB
Play 5. Check down to RB
Play 6. Check down to RB
Play 7. Check down to RB
Play 8. Check down to RB
Play 9. Check down to RB
Play 10. Check down to RB
Play 11. Check down to RB
Play 12. Check down to RB
Play 13. Check down to RB
Play 14. Check down to RB
Play 15. Bomb to Lee if you dont get sacked first

Re: GT: Green Bay Packers vs. Buffalo Bills
I feel bad for Edwards.
He may not be the best QB in the league, but he has absolutely nothing around him. He has pressure in his face every play and absolutely no good WRs... When Lee Evans is your best target, you are in major trouble.
I would check down too so I didn't get killed. Any time he hung onto the ball and tried to let the play develop, Matthews or another one of our guys drilled him.

Re: GT: Green Bay Packers vs. Buffalo Bills
I actually think Evans is a legit #1 WR, but on that team, it doesn't matter because they have zero depth that the position, a bad QB, and the worst OL in football. So you have Evans getting #1 corner + safety help when people can't get him the ball anyway.

I disagree he is a number one option. I think he is a reasonable number two and a very good number three.
Just not versatile enough for a number one WR in my opinion. More of a great deep threat than anything else really.

He's definitely better than a "reasonable #2". He's just played with awful QB's.

Re: GT: Green Bay Packers vs. Buffalo Bills
So it looks like Brandon Jacobs has asked to be traded.

Not sure we'd want him, but just throwing it out there.

I'd probably lean more towards Lynch between the two but I wouldn't mind Jacobs as our starter.
A big smash type of runner like Jacobs would be perfect for a windy freezing cold championship game at Lambeau in late January.

I think he is one of the worst 'number one' options in the entire league. For example I think the Packers have three WRs who are just as good or better than he is. Jennings and Driver I like more, Jones I put on the same level.
I think he would be the best WR on the Bears, Titans, Jaguars, Skins, Raiders, Seahawks... I think there are quite a few teams that have two WRs that are better than he is.
That does not make you a number one, IMO.

I don't know if I would take Jacobs if we got him for free.
That guy is terrible now.

Matthews takes out another QB, this time not by injury..

It's only Week Three, but it's starting to feel real late to a lot of NFL teams.
The Buffalo Bills were the latest team to change quarterbacks when Chan Gailey announced that Ryan Fitzpatrick would get the start against the Patriots this Sunday.
"We're looking for a spark," said Gailey.
Gailey started Edwards in every preseason game and gave him the most first team snaps throughout training camp. Despite that, he's given up on him after two games in similar fashion to what Dick Jauron did last year.
Gailey said Fitzpatrick would be the starter moving forward. (At least until he tries Brian Brohm.)

Re: GT: Green Bay Packers vs. Buffalo Bills
Apparently Fitzpatrick is starting game 3. Many on the Bils board want Brohm to start with quotes such as
give me Brohm or give me death!!!
I'm not sure why they wouldn't go w/ Brohm. Nothing against Fitz, but I've gotta believe Brohm has a higher ceiling...
Brohm has looked good in preseason.. why not give him a shot? we know Edwards will never become a good QB that will ever even have a shot at making a superbowl... why are we wasting our time on edwards... it only takes a few games to see if a qb has potential or not to be good... and trent is not good
Agreed. Why not?! Brian Brohm, be a hero!
No. Brohm looked bad. 61 passer rating. Didn't score a TD the entire preseason, nor did he ever help his team get into the end zone.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I'd love for this trend to continue after week 3.
