Any chance to get Kyrylo Fesenko?

Post#1 » by Bassman » Tue Sep 21, 2010 2:02 pm

Jazz and Fesenko are not seeing eye to eye. The young big man won't sign his 1 year tender, and now the Jazz have (reportedly) pulled their multi-year deal off the table. I'd like to get this guy on a sign and trade. Any ideas?

I'd rather have him than Diop and Brown

That's just it though Fred - we already have those two (plus Nazzy) so adding a 4th stiff doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Nobody would know who he was/is, if wasn't as big as he is. Plus hes all of a sudden (this late in the free agent season) getting interest. ITs because there is no one left.

If we didn't have th e group of so-so bigs we have, then maybe...but the Bobcats should not sign him.

Kwame Brown > Fesenko

I'd rather have Earl Barron.

don't we already have 16 on roster plus Miles, Hughes, Critteton and A.Walker all trying to come to camp? I think they need to get rid of bodies not add more

15 (sans campers). We waived the Dust chip.

Note...I said a sign and trade..meaning we would deal at least 1 player for him. I know there's no great combination of players/salaries that works here, as the Jazz have several very expensive players and some cheapo's. I just think Fesenko has some game, and would be good value if you could get him at a reasonable price over a few years.

Certaionly not THE answer nor a priority...and not at all likely anyway.

Interesting fact: Diop's career high for number of points in a single game is two points lower than Fesenko's.

Fesenko, IMO, is a poor man's Diop. We already have that.

You've convinced me guys...he's not anything to pursue.

Sad when we're dumpster diving so close to training camp.... :sigh:

No real deals out there now. We'll have to ride with the girls already on the bus.

I might be crazy but give Diop his 20 minutes and I think he might return to his Dallas form. He won't score points but he was a good defender at one time.

Remember how we benched Mohammed a few years ago and he did well for us last year? I could see that happening with Diop.

I think Mohammed can play 15-20 a game. Alternate between Kwame and Diop for the rest of the minutes.

People forget that Diop gave Tim Duncan more hell than anyone in the league at one point... I don't think he'll ever return to that form, but he can certainly get back to the level of a decent bench player.

Diop has to be playing at least 20mpg to partially justify his contract IMO.

but if we are playing diop 20 mins per night we are in worse trouble than i suspected.

my guess at the center breakdown
nazr (starter) - 20mins
diaw - 12
brown - 10
diop - 6

I doubt all four will see action every night at center. I think it will end up being Kwame or Diop, as I earlier said, depending on who we're playing.

Nazr - 20
Brown/Diop - 15
Diaw/Thomas - 13

You obviously don't want Nazr playing a ton of minutes to keep him from getting hurt. I think Tyrus plays around 20-25mpg this year, which forces either him or Diaw to play center some.

Of course, one of these guys may be gone before the season has started. We could always end up pairing Diop with DJ or Hendo for cap relief as we did in July.
