Both games are being released today. Celebrate.

*Will edit this post with my input on NBA 2K11 when I get it.

Have purchased 2k over EA Sports' product for a decade at this point, don't see that changing this year...

Great thread Jaruff

Pretty much the same here. When I started playing in the 90's I was strictly an NBA Live guy. Then when I moved here 5 1/2 years ago I started playing 2K and there is no way in the world I would go back to Live now.

2K poops all over Live IMO.

Usually I pre-book to make sure I have a copy as soon as it comes out, but this year considering we didn't draft anyone or make any real significant moves over the summer, I'm not as excited to rush out and buy the game.

A note to anyone that buys the EA offering: if you get it used, you'll have to pay $10 to activate online play if someone else has already played the game online. That's something EA is doing with many (if not all) of their sports titles now. I think I read about something similar with 2K11 but I haven't found anything on it so perhaps that was dropped.

I've personally been a 2K fan since NFL 2K3 and NBA 2K5. Live *really* went to hell over the past few years.

PlayStation 3 and a possible PC purchase if I ever get around to buying a new graphics card.

One of the things I'm liking with 2K is that they've apparently licensed every player for the teams MJ plays against and for in the challenges. For instance, you'll get to play with the full 1995-1996 Bulls roster and you won't have to deal with PG #4 or SF #33.

You know Pip took that cash... surprised no one held out, especially since they're supposed to have classic teams the Bulls beat (or so I thought based on my understanding of the MJ Challenge stuff). If I'm Craig Ehlo, I've been embarrassed enough... **** you 2k, pay me.

Craig Ehlo doesn't have anything to be embarrassed about compared to poor Bryon Russell:

2k11 on 360. I was a long-time Live player until 2005-2006, when I bought both games to side-by-side them. No comparison at the time - 2K beat the pants of off Live - even though I've been told that Live/Elite has made strides the last few years. Too late though...I'm officially branded unless 2K slips up.

I'll be getting 2K day 1 like always. Can't wait to play with some of the historical teams. Bulls vs. Knicks and Lakers vs. Bulls will be fun stuff. I'll probably go the 360 route but could be talked into the PS3 if others are getting it on there. Walt are your boys all grabbing it for PS3 again?

I wouldn't bother. The ones that will get it on PS3 refuse to play online. I'm getting whichever one it seems like more people on here are getting so we can maybe do a similar thing but actually play the games this time, ALTHOUGH, we'd never have been able to make Popovich/Jackson/Larry Brown teams on 360 because you'd have to purchase each account... hmmm things to ponder.

Gotcha. I understand not wanting to play online when you can play most of the guys on the couch. It would have been nice to finish the rest of our games but at least the draft was a good time and was ran efficiently.

I'm still up for trying another fantasy draft league in the near future if we can get enough people. The 360/PS3 ratio is kind of split on here at the moment although you make a valid point for the PS3 with the ability to add the coaches as users. That worked out pretty well last time and gave us something to do while waiting on the others to finish up their games. I dunno, maybe we could recruit from BCP as well?
