I'm giving Love the advantage because we KNOW he's already one of the best rebounders in the league, and he has legit range on his jumper. He just turned 22, is it reasonable to trade him for someone who's calling card is filled with the P-word?

I hear what you're saying, but swift was about 220 soaking wet even in his prime, he was thrown around like a rag doll by legit post players his whole career. Favors is a Brick House. 245 and chiseled at 19. I guess I am higher on him than most, I think his floor is an Al Horford type.

I don't like the scenario of either paying a "glue guy" like Love 10-13 mil a year or losing him for nothing in a couple years. The team USA games really showed Love for what he is outside of a timberwolves context, albeit in limited minutes. Great rebounder, good shooter, good offensive teammate.
Huge liability on the defensive end, which is why he couldn't get any meaningful minutes in any of the elimination games over stiffs like Tyson Chandler.

this isn't meant to sway anyone either way, but an honest question i'd love to know the answer to. Will it be easier for Love to drop 15lbs and learn to move his feet so he can play some team D, or for Favors to develop a shot outside 5 feet and learn how to play within an NBA offense?

favors is 19 so i think those things will come naturally in time if favors is a hard worker. it was weird, a few months ago i saw some summer league action of dwight howard in his rookie year and he was banking in face up jump shots from 15-18 feet, and i was like, wheres that now? i think favors will work hard and is in a really good situation in new jersey.

I think a more interesting comparison would be Derrick Favors vs Serge Ibaka

As a Favors fanboy I agree that this is a silly comparison for now. Favors is raw and will take a while to develop, but I believe he has the potential to become a better player than Love because of his physical attributes at the age of 19. He could really become a Howard-like player with a better touch from the FT-line. (his 63% NCAA average doesn't confirm this, but I like his mechanics a lot more than Dwights) Doesn't mean he will get there.

Gotta admit, this was sweet.

I'm very high on Favors....and I may be leaning towards him but it's tough. Ultimately Favors has the length, and athleticism to possibly play Center, and that would help a lot in our system. I would probably do it, but NJ wouldn't.
