Not to sure about that.

If the Nuggets know for a fact that Melo won't sign any extenstions with them , they should ship him to New Jersey for that package.
It might be the best offer out there at this time.

No that's just it. I mean there's a report saying Melo won't sign an extension with the Nets, which means they wouldn't risk trading for him.

i wouldnt be ready to trade melo to bynum yet.

id like to give bynum 1 more year to prove himself, because hes still too young to let go. hes been down for 2 years, and if he doesnt do anything spectacular this year, his trade value is really going to dip down, so it might be better to just get rid of him.
like i said, 1 more year for bynum to prove himself, unless the jazz want to drop deron williams to us =)

Can we just have Brian Cook sit and play the other teams 4 on 5?

Go check out some of BC's game logs from the Lakers...I'm surprised. But I guess I do remember a period where he was like our 2nd best scorer...my how things have changed.

So getting Melo would mean we are winning and the Lakers want to win for a few more years. If Kobe and LO and Pau are about at the end. Lakers might cut some ties and lower there payroll. So this trade will not happen next year. It would need to happen now or soon.

They are playing with the Laker name. To help get more from someone else. Pass

Again with this crap? Weren't you saying this right before we signed blake? and again right before we signed barnes? and again right after jerry buss himself came out and said that he does NOT plan to cut payroll. Jerry Buss is not a small business owner, he will spend the money if the player is worth it. he has proven this time and time again.

What you are saying is equivalent to saying that, "eventually, bill gates will have to cut payroll." NO HE WON'T. as long as his employees are making HIM money, he will NOT cut payroll.

agreed, buss is one of the few owners who doesnt hesitate to put his money where is mouth is when it comes to winning, and hes expressed it time and time again.
LA gets huge revenue in games, merchandise, jerseys, sponsors, etc etc etc.
buss wont back down from signing big name players...if kupchak says bring melo to LA, buss will more likely than not, get the job done.

Kobe & Pierce are currently the only players in the NBA that have a no trade clause, both players are basically "franchised". Someone will correct me if I am wrong.

I think it's just Kobe not sure if Pierce got one in his new contract. But either way with Melo's situation it is basically the same as having the clause because if he refuses to sign an extension no team will bite. It may be in his best interest to just play it out with Denver so that he can sign with NY in the off season (his destination of choice) without them giving up any pieces
“If this is his team, that means no more coming into camp fat/out of shape, no more blaming others for our team’s failure, my team doesn’t mean only when we win it means carrying the burden of defeat just as gracefully as you carry a championship trophy.”

Speaking no waiving no trade clause...not to bring up bad memories, but does anyone know why Kobe listed Phoenix as one of his destination choices when he demanded a trade? Was it because of Dantoni?

Clarification:
Kobe & Dirk both have no trade clauses according to RealGM and ESPN.com but I could not confirm that Pierce has a no trade clause. There were several reports saying he did get one. However none of the reports from credible sources online are actually confirmed.

Melo should suck it up and go to the Knicks when he is done with Denver or just Max it out with the Clippers. It would be mad crazy seeing Jeremy Piven rocking a Melo Clipper jersey courtside! The Clippers would legitimized overnight.

"One of the LA teams"? Maybe Carmelo's being traded to the LA kings. They never said the name of the team, let alone if it was basketball or hockey.
