Anyone have much chance to see him play (either in person somehow or in videos)? How athletic is he?
Found this...it's old, but it's interesting to see him at maybe the peak of his hype:

Re: Lakers Rookie Updates
Devin Ebanks,
Ebanks was a mysterious college player, with ups and downs and the uncertainty as to which Devin Ebanks would take the floor when playing for West Virginia. Playing for the Lakers, Ebanks will have one job to do, which will simplify his expectations and give him the opportunity to get the most out of his playing time. Ebanks will be used as an athletic swingman whose goal will be to defend and run the floor. He will be used the same way Trevor Ariza was used, and should learn faster rather than slower with guys like Kobe Bryant and Ron Artest mentoring him in practice. Ebanks averaged 15 points per contest in five summer leagues games, and despite summer league not meaning a whole lot, he still showed he’s more than just a raw athlete. His outside game looked better than advertised, and with some improvement and consistency, Ebanks could find a suitable role off the bench for the best team in the West.

Mitch Kupchak, Lakers GM, did a fantastic job in finding talents like Ebanks and Caracter that late in the draft. Both players have received contracts from the Lakers, and will round out the bench unit for LA. While Ebanks has great long term potential, Caracter is the player fans should look out for. I feel that Caracter can contribute right away while Ebanks might need a few seasons to polish his game.

Re: Lakers Rookie Updates
with Devin Ebanks and Derrick Caracter.
It's an ideal situation for the Lakers. They have a couple young players who look like keepers, but, short of bad things, won't need to rely on them in the quest to three-peat. Caracter is likely to slide into the Josh Powell role, playing spot minutes here and there when circumstances (generally foul trouble) demand, or filling in if a player misses a game here or there. There will be plenty of DNP-CD's, but Caracter will probably spend more time in uniform than Ebanks, behind Ron Artest, Bryant (when he slides to the 3), and Matt Barnes at small forward. Both, especially Ebanks, are good bets to visit the D-League.
Meaning the best chance to see them in action, if preseason basketball can be called that, comes before the opener. Each acquitted himself well during summer ball in Vegas, but the team's eight exhibitions will nudge the rooks closer to the level of competition they'll see in actual NBA games, and gain some of the necessary confidence required should circumstances demand regular-season minutes in bulk. But more than putting up numbers in games, Ebanks and Caracter will need to perform well in practice. Day to day, how are they absorbing the system and the culture? Here's the basic to-do list: Show up early, leave late, run hard, say nothing.
Oh, and carry a lot of luggage and rack a lot of balls.
