Not really sure WHY we needed to include Charlotte and Utah in this deal. Couldn't we have sent Murphy and Favors plus the picks to Denver.

How exactly is Kirilenkos expiring that much more valueable than murphy's.

I'd much rather stick with Devin to be honest.. murphy is replaceable.

According to an NBA source, Anthony has signed off an extension with the Nets. Denver must pull the trigger.

Anthony deal not done. No agreement yet. Just Melo saying as @FisolaNYDN tweeted: "I'm taking my talents to the Ironbound section of Newark"

The Nets want DJ Augustin as part of package, but two sources in process say it won't be a deal-breaker to keep them from getting 'Melo.

Could not agree more. The only explanation is that they don't believe Harris is the long term answer. Therefore getting Murphy has more trade value as an expiring and getting a guy like Augustine is a plus as he might be valuable to pick someone up in a trade.

I disagree with this. To me Harris is a proven talent who's been to the playoffs. With Farmar and TWill we could limit his minutes to keep him fresh. If he re-focuses on being a great defender he could be a big piece of the core.

I agree. If we get Augustin we get a young point guard with room to grow to be a part of our new core.

Congrats Nets, you have pulled a big move. You have turned yourself into a legit team. Now its time to work on that next move, to get a number 2 star.

I'm using my first post in Realgm boards to congratulate Nets fans.

Now, this is such a great comeback! After being one of the worst teams in history, the franchise is looking poised for an amazing race to the top of the NBA.

A new owner with his global plans + the future move to the biggest market in the world +Carmelo Anthony = a brilliant future.

And, to be honest, it's kind of great for us the European NBA fans. Hundreds of thousands of us visit the New York area every year, we need both the Nets and the Knicks to be competitive and exciting!

I would be a little worried, because Farmar and Augustin doesn't seem as a reliable couple to properly run an offense. Augustin is more of a shooter, and Farmar, well, we all know Farmar. He tends to be "caothic" at times.

NEITHER DO I?????
Rich just said it...pull Harris or Favors...I was concentrating on Favors but I'd feel a lot better if we held onto one of them...

I believe Augustine is all about getting a trade chip. Outlaw may now be the most available man in the NBA. My money is on an Outlaw/Hump/Augustine package returning someone like Tony Parker (not sure of his contract situation) at some point this year.

No need to start nitpicking the team, this is definitely not the final move. Augustine is definitely an asset, the nets hope he flourish and increases his trade value. They got one of the final true stars that was still on the market. Is Chris Paul and Okafor next??

I think if the master plan is to get Chris Paul as well when he's a free agent, Augustin/Farmar will do fine until then. If not, ugh oh.

Thanks!

I live in the beautiful Madrid, Spain.

I've just realized something: the Nets are playing two regular season games in London, one hour and a half by plane from here. Ohhh boy, this trade is starting to look even better for me

Congrats Nets, getting Carmelo as a conselation price in the lebron sweepstakes aint a bad deal huh. LOL @ the other big market team saying they would get Bron, then carmelo, but all they got from all the talk and media posturing is a 2nd tier FA... Again Congrats nets.

Denver still hasn't signed off on deal and haven't shown other teams rush to do so. "They won't get a better deal," one involved exec says.
