Breakout Teams this year

Post#1 » by jman3134 » Sat Sep 25, 2010 7:28 pm

Did any of you read the Andy Katz article?

Do any of you agree that NC St. and Georgia are poised for breakout seasons? I'm hesitant with Georgia because I am wondering about their depth. I don't think Katz citing NC St having the same number of conference wins as UNC was really a convincing argument because that was considered a shockingly bad season for them.

NC State is an easy choice to improve a lot with the great freshman class.
Georgia is an interesting pick. If Thompkins and Leslie will be all-SEC caliber players, and Jeremy Price looked really good on games I saw defensively, but they play in a really tough league (which Katz mentioned).

It's really hard to pick for me, but I would like to bring Virginia's name up as a possible break-out team.

I'll go with Northwestern to possibly breakout. A lot of chemistry and upperclassmen on that team who are desperate for that first ever tourny bid. And Drew Crawford is gonna be a beast. Too bad the Big 10 looks monsterous this season. Plenty of opportunities to rack up big wins and RPI though.
Jerry Reinsdorf; the undisputed king of allowing his GM's to run amok with unchecked power and ego. :king:
