Should Morey help the Knicks
However, the Knicks could also be in position to acquire Anthony via a trade if team president Donnie Walsh can find a first-round pick to include in a potential deal. The Knicks traded their 2012 first-round pick to the Rockets in the Tracy McGrady deal, a decision that Walsh admitted that he now second-guesses. League rules prohibit teams from trading their own first-round picks in consecutive years.
The Knicks conceivably can trade a player for a first-round pick, and there is some interest around the league for Anthony Randolph, the third-year forward who came to New York in the David Lee sign-and-trade with Golden State. According to a source, the Rockets would consider trading a first-round pick for Randolph.

Imagine if the Knicks trade Randolph for the 1st-round pick and then find out that Carmelo Anthony has been traded to the Nets.

Is it possible for us to get Gallinari instead?

Pass.
We already have Gallinari. His name is Jermaine Taylor.
This is another one of those moments when our collective penchant for message boards clouds our judgement. (And I mean me too, here.) Gallinari is an unproven quantity. Potential? Probably. Proof of same? Nope. So far he's only proven himself to be a semi-adequate gunner on a bad team. Thusfar, he's Isiah Rider without the vertical. He may very well be Adam Morrison without the language skills. Maybe not. But there's no reason to annoint the cat, either.
But...
Knicks fans beat everybody over the head with their constant "Gallinari as stud" meme. Eventually, their collective, nasal volume worms its way into our brains, disguised as truth. Well...it ain't. But we mistake volume for truth, in the absence of real evidence (see: "Obama as socialist").
In sum: Screw New York and their emotionally and physically crippled GM.
Let 'em hang.

But do you want to give up a top 10 pick for him?

Probably? Gallo is "probably" better than Jermaine Taylor? Do New York fans piss you off that much? You drunk or something man?
Gallo > Cbud > Taylor . Maybe taylor has a breakout year and gets better than Gallo, but till then, there's no way Gallo is "probably" better than taylor. He is better than Taylor.

Considering the knicks gave up signing dlee for randolph...Give em the first round pick for randolph.. That would be a steal. No guarantee the pick would be top 10 anyway. Let knicks get their first round pick back.
I think knicks would keep Gallo tho, he's going no where.

You 12 or something, man?
Lemme 'splain my original point:
Gallo put up 15ppg last year, playing 34 minutes per game...on a bad team...that played no defense...that only had one other real option on offense (Lee).
You can't extrapolate that into "Gallo as stud". Sorry. You just can't. My original point was maybe unclear to you, but people who have followed the game for more than 5 years have seen his type before. "Guy Who Scores A Little On Bad Team". He's a type, thusfar.
I never said he sucked, by the way. I only suggested the jury's still out - just like it's still out on Taylor (who can score in bunches when given the green light).
By the way, I once saw Jim Peterson drop 25 on Michael Cage and the Sonics.
So calm yourself.

im not sayin he's a stud, i'm saying he's DEFINITELY better than JERMAINE TAYLOR. he may be overrated, but to say there's a chance that taylor is better than gallo, i mean cmon man

OK, you're a rox fan, so I love you. BUT...
"cmon man" does not a rebuttal make.
How do you know he's better than Taylor? Really. How do you know?
Taylor's been a more proficient scorer in his limited minutes than Gallo has in his extended minutes. And yet, I still allow Gallo's probably better. (Why? Because I'm a nice guy, maybe.)
My only point in this whole kerfuffle is to point out the inherant frailty of arguing one known quantity versus one unknown quantity.
It's like when my wife says "that's impossible" and I try to say "no, sweetie. It's improbable b/c there's no such thing as mathematically impossible", and she starts crying and says "it's mathematically impossible to make a radial tire out of two gerbil whiskers and some spit" and I get frightened because tears scare the s**t out of me and I pat her back and say "yes, dear, THAT is mathematically impossible...but ONLY that".
It's like that.

Wasn't directed at me lol, but i'll answer it anyway. No i wouldnt trade gallo for a top 10 pick. when's the last time we had a top 10 pick? always have to work our tails off to find guys like brooks or cbud. its about time we sit on our asses and get an easy pick.

Thankfully, all we have to do for a top 10 pick this year is sit on our asses and wait for James Dolan to murder a hooker.

actually one thing that's mathematically impossible is the end of numbers haha no. but i'm talking about right now, at this point in their careers. i dont think taylor sucks, i've said before he showed he can be productive when he got minutes in the 2nd half of last season. i wouldnt mind him getting 10-15mpg if we traded cbud.
he's shown he has potential. dunno how he's gonna reach it with houston. maybe martin gets traded for that big black guy we oh so desperately need. or maybe he rots in the bench warming up a defenseless scoring sg's seat, killing any potential he has. could've been the next dwade, or marcus thornton clone, or maybe a combo guard, a tenacious defender. oh what could've been...

Jordan Hill is a top 10 pick.

Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

This is like killing 5 birds with one stone!! It's David vs. Goliath's whole zip code. How many times can Morey rape one team? It's like a board game!

"You left my hotel. Pay me."
"Aww crap."
yayyyyyyy!!!!!!
Sources indicated that the Knicks are working to pry draft picks to send the Nuggets in a deal for Anthony, and have contacted the Rockets for this purpose.
