I thin we'd ave to look hard at a deal for Elton - the Sixers would likely be willing to sweeten the trade, and EB would very likely regain his form here, and his health. he'd add some muscle to the front line, for sure, and after this year he's a big expiring contract.

Good bigs just aren't' all that available

And we thought Hedu's deal was tough to swallow ?
I believe we'd lose a few here to aneurysms.

EB is kind of like Hill.... he's sat more over the past 3 yrs than played. But hey... you want defense, rebounding, BBIQ ??? Reports are he's returned to camp in great shape and Collins likes him. Like I said, pickens are slim. We need not bother with this for a few months.
What ? Me Worry ?

agreed. If/when someone comes up that's good and worth it, then look into it but it's kind of a moot point at the moment. I wouldn't be upset if we extend J-Rich. Frye can't post up, but he shoots so he'll draw a big guy up so J-Rich and score in the post, which he'll be able to do longer because it just doesn't take a ton of athleticism. If all J-Rich does is shoot 3's, come off screens and shoot, and post up, he's still a pretty versatile scorer. I'd rather have him play with Dragic though so Dragic can defend the better guard of the opposing team.

If Brand pans out to still be healthy He'd be a worth a shot, seeing how they have Speights. I'd give him half a season of staying healthy before I'd really look into it though

Edit: If we got Brand now and he turned out to be damaged goods, aneurysms would be the least of our problems. Sudden asthma attacks in people who have never had asthma, heart murmurs, and concussions (faces meet brick wall) would also occur

Or we could try to do a deal to get Boris back ......... seriously. With Amare gone, he might blossom again, but i don't really see how to make the $$$ work. There's almost $5m we'd need to add from the payroll and no-one we'd want that they'd give up

We could package him with Clark and a draft pick and get Diaw and Wallace!

Nash/Dragic/Janning
Hill/Childress
Hedo/Dudley
Wallace/Diaw/Warrick/Lawal
Lopez/Frye/Jones

All can shoot the 3 except Warrick/Lawal/Lopez/Jones

I can't see why Charlotte do that trade. They lose their franchise player for an expiring Jason Richardson, a player that hasn't proven anything yet, and a first which may not even be in the lottery.
We'll be lucky to get just Wallace for that kind of deal.

I would be interested in acquiring Elton, but his contract scares me. I would do a J-Rich/Warrick for Elton and a 2nd. Let th famous Phoenix training staff deal with Elton. When healthy, Elton is one of the Top 5 PF's in the league.

2 problems with Brand are he's on the wrong side of 30 and he hasn't had a dominant season since 07-08. IF he recovers and show's he's healthy for a couple months I'm down. But not until he can prove that he can still put up something like 15-17 and 8. I have faith that the training staff can restore health to most everything, but they passed on Tyson Chandler, which tells me they know what they're capable of, and if they don't think they can revive his career then he's done

Yes, i agree - the point was really more that there just aren't that many bigs around, of the kind who could actually help us and add what we need, and that are in the right salary range to be available for JR

I'd rather see how our young 'uns do, give Lawal and Clark lots of minutes and see how Jones and Siler work out. Man, so many new faces - who knows what this team is going to be, really? Exciting and nervous making

Eddy Curry for JRich.

Eddy Curry reported to camp weighing 325 pounds, according to a person in the organization.

Curry has reportedly gained 20 pounds since April.

When asked if Curry was already behind, head coach Mike D’Antoni said, “Well, yeah.”

Some one has to tell Eddy Curry to stop eating so much fried chicken.

Gotta love Curry's attitude though. Coming into contract year after a season of controversy, being sent to the bench for being unfit to play and to top it off, showed to training camp well overweight.

Some people just don't get it.

Dont get it? He has accumulated like 50 million dollars in his career and got paid to do NOTHING the last two years. If he never plays a game of basketball again, he comes out on top. If there is anyone who doesnt get it, it's the people dishing out guaranteed contracts to those who don't deserve it.

The last thing Curry needs now is showing up uninterested and unfit. The guy couldn't even pay his mortgage and had his house foreclosed. He was asking the KNICKS, who he hasn't played for in like 2 seasons for an advance of $8m. He's broke and desperate. Not Antoine Walker broke and desperate, but he needs money bad. $11m is a lot to get paid next season, but with his debt and his lifestyle, how long is that really going to last? I mean, his personal chef gets paid $6000 a month! Assuming he pays of his debt with the money he's making this season, what about the years after when he's no longer making the 7-digit salaries? How is he going to pay the $1000 a month on cable and television? His $30,000 a month on house hold expenses and that's not even the mortgage. He has roughly $2.5m of his salary he never sees because $207,000 a month goes to garnished wages. If he isn't broke, he will be if he doesn't have a highly improbable comeback season.
Showing up with his attitude in what is probably the most important season of his career, yeah, he doesn't get it.
