Granger trade idea: Bucks/Pacers

Post#1 » by hege53190 » Mon Sep 27, 2010 8:34 pm

A Danny Granger trade has been posted on the Bucks board and it is getting quite a bit of discussion. I just wanted to get the takes of some Pacers fans on one of them.

Pacers get: Michael Redd ($18 million expiring contract that is 80% insured), Larry Sanders (rookie 15th pick in the draft), Ersan Ilysova, and Carlos Delfino

Bucks get: Danny Granger, James Posey, Jeff Foster

I just wanted to see what Pacers fans thought of it or if they had any interest in trading Granger.

^^^^ FWIW .... Redd's expiring is worthless to us, so you can't use that as any sort of incentive.

The trade becomes: Sanders/ Ilysova/Delfino for Granger/Posey/Foster (exp.)

I'll pass. You probably wouldn't want to hear what I'd want off of your roster, but it starts with Bogut and ends with Jennings.

Keep Redd in mind for a team that is in need off salary relief, if not you'll keep getting unsuitable counter-offers.

With Roy and now Collison, I wouldn't trade Granger for anyone on the Bucks.

I m atually pretty high on all 3 of Sanders/ Ilysova/Delfino and think Illysova would be an awesome addition to the Pacers. However, in no way should Granger ever be involved in a trade for just that combination. Try that expiring Redd contract somewhere where it would be more valuable.

OK good to hear.

Some of the reactions are funny but point taken. Thank you for your time, especially Irish Luck. I appreciate your input.

Granger isn't worth a salary dump right now for us. It's essentially Granger for Sanders, with dumping the last year of Posey's deal. Ilyasova is nice and all, and would be a nice addition as a 6th man for us right now, but he's just not so valuable to make up for a deal like this.

Right now, we're under the luxury tax this year, and we already have massive cap space coming our way next year. Larry Sanders isn't such a can't miss talent that we'd consider this. Even replacing him with a dynamic young talent like Derrick Favors doesn't make this a home run for us.

Not really a troll, just a homer. At least he was respectful...but no. This is an awful deal for us.

I wouldn't either..... I just know how much Bucks fans admire Andrew & Brandon, similar to our loyalty for Granger. Just putting it into perspective, that's all.

Personally I say we attempt a trade with the T-Wolves - Solomon Jones for Kevin Love. It sounds crazy, but considering some of the moves David Kahn has made as Minny's GM , you never know.

Dude, your nuts! No GM in the NBA no matter how dumb they are would pull that trade! Besides, hasnt Kahn turned down a ton of offers from us anyways?

It's the other way around. We turned down Granger for Jefferson.

Granger has a tonne more value than an expiring deal. SMH

For the record I really like Illysova and Deffino, but that was a terrible deal.
