Utah Jazz announce Ron Boone returns with primary role on radio. I am honored to work w/ Ron. He is a wealth of knowledge. A true gentleman.

Matt Harpring will team with Bolerjack for the majority of #UtahJazz's games shown on FSNUtah. about 2 hours ago via web

I feel bad for Boone, but he should do well with Locke - that's a lot of basketball knowledge in our radio hosts, from experience and evaluation.

I like Harp's insight to the game and hopefully the 50 bucks for a 3 schtik is gone.

Our tv lineup just got a whole lot more arrogant.

Great news. Keep the unlistenables on the radio.

This is almost as bad as not re-signing Boozer. I'm a Boone guy.

Long overdue. Love Booner, but he was beyond the point 10 years ago. His ongoing placement on the TV team was a sympathy thing. He hasn't been good enough to do his job for a looooong time.

Ron Boone taught me the importance of the "goose neck" when I was 10 yo over 20 yrs ago at a Jr Jazz Bball camp. Ron Boone rocks.

I like Booner. His foibles are endearing to me.

What is the importance of the "goose neck"?
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

I like Booner, but it will be a nice change of pace with Harp.

Harp is way better. Booner's stories are old, and his interest in the game has wavered greatly. Harp knows the players, knows the system, and understands tendencies far better than Booner.

Ron's breakdown of the game is going to be completely incoherent next to Locke's statistical breakdown.

This is what I am worried about. We have done great work keeping down the homerism (comparatively that is. Just watch a denver or portland home game and picture two 13 year olds from an internet message board complaining about officiating). Hopefully Harpring gets the professional demeanor quickly. His previous bouts he was still a player that was trying out announcing. Now I expect him to be an announcer who was a former player.

But the potential is there now for a much better crew.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

Yeah.. I still prefer Booner..it's too bad I don't mind harping but it would be nice to get a mix. I know other teams boards have commented on how impartial our commentators are but I have a hunch with harping that will get a little bit arrogant like seejaydeja said.

I love the move, Booner is a tad mentally challenged.
I want announcers that at least try to come across as normal

I think Matty will be 100x's better.

Poor Booner, he'll be lucky to get two words in per game as Locke never S'TFU. The best thing about being back in Utah is not having to listen to games on the radio... Oh wait, now I have to listen to dimples instead. Oh well, at least there's moving pictures.
