I'm glad they locked him up, a solid, young prospect with lots of experience. I'd like to see him crush a few more cans though to get a little more high-level seasoning and exposure and not face Mitrione or Schaub, should he win against Gonzaga.

I'm a huge Struve fan. I think he is gonna be special in like a year or 2. He has a ton of potential.

If you're that afraid to put him in the cage with Matt Mitrione, he probably shouldn't be in the UFC at this point in his career.

I should have specified. I wouldn't pit him against Mitrione because I don't think he can beat him or because it wouldn't be competitive... There's no need to have a prospect eliminator bout in HW like there is in LHW.

I hear that. It's not like the winner of Struve/Mitrione would be in the title picture, where the rumoured Jones/Bader fight would possibly get the winner a shot at the title, or put them one win away at worst.

But what I'm saying, is really, how many guys in the UFC HW division are worse than Mitrione? If Struve still needs to be fed cans 6 fights into his UFC career, he might have been better off getting some experience elsewhere and then coming back to the UFC when he's ready.

He is only 24. i think it would be better for him to just stay in the UFC, work his way up it. If it takes a little bit longer than so be it. Sending a young talented HW prospect somewhere else would be a very bad idea for the UFC in my opinion. Not to mention the kid puts on exciting fights. Goes for broke every time.

He's really tall and when he fights he always seems like such a huge target to tee off on.

Not so sure he wins more than two of those next fights, but he's a physical freak and people love to see that sort of thing. He can always be on the first card on the main event imo.
