Feedback on team please

Post#1 » by wubanger40 » Thu Sep 30, 2010 6:38 pm

Hey I'm in a smaller rotisserie league, and kind of new to fantasy leagues. We did a live auction draft(a lot of fun). I know some of these guys are injured or coming off of one, and are risky but i took a chance ahah.

Heres my team:
PG- deron williams
SG- kobe bryant
G- Brandon Jennings
SF- rudy gay
PF- kevin love
C- Brooke lopez
C- Greg Oden(lol)
F- Josh smith
Util- Blake griffin
Util- Al Horford
Bn- Monta ellis
Bn- Andrew bogut
Bn- John wall

Ill prob rotate these positions a little, but thats just what they were set at as defualt

Thanks!

Wow! Is this a 4-team league or something? It must be incredibly shallow for you to have a roster like that. The waiver wire must be LOADED.

It's very well rounded...You have pts, ast, reb, blk, likely steals all covered. No three point shooters though. You have a few that can hit some, but no real gunner on the squad. So if you want to round off your team to contend in every category then focus on nabbing one.

Speaking of which, who's on waivers? Maybe you can dump Oden for one? Since Lopez, Love, Bogut, Horford, Smith, and Griffin have you more than covered in bigman stats. Either way that team is disgusting...

yea haha, theres like 6 of us. I wanted more, but not many of my friends are into basketball. The ones that did this only went for like super big names like lebron and such. I actually only took kobe to spite my friend ahah.

Yea thats what i thought about the 3pt shooting, I'm not sure how waivers work tho(i tried to read up on it). aha Ive been looking up good 3pt shooters, and it seems like a lot of them are taken..

If your league just drafted recently, then everyone that's available will follow waiver rules for a couple of days. The team that had the last pick in the draft will be assigned first waiver priority while the team that had the first pick had the last. So if Kevin Durant is on waivers and I have the #1 waiver priority while you have #2. We both put in the waiver claim to get him, after his waiver eligiblity expires in a day or two, I'll get him and move down to the 6th waiver priority while you move up to #1. Same deal happens everytime a player is dropped...After a few days everyone who wasn't drafted becomes a free agent and can be picked up in an instant. Hope that helps, I know it's confusing but I'm not so good at explaining things.

As for your 14 team league draft. Just focus on getting the best players available with your first few picks and then start filling needs. Try to compete in every single stat. It's deeper so once you get later in the draft there will be some pretty obscure names, pick guys that you think can break out.

Heres my other team

pg - jason kid
sg - manu ginobli
g - oj mayo
sf - rudy gay
pf - paul milsap
c - brooke lopez
f - anderson verajao
util - jonny flynn
util - kleiza
util - brendan haywood
bn - erik dampier
bn - rudy fernandez
bn - ronnie brewer

i tried, but i chose 13/14 so i would get like 2 picks in a row, then like none for a long time. I really wanted to land kevin love, but the person before me picked him.. rattled me

what do you think?
